What scares you if alone in the night? I am usually quite comfortable being alone but when there are B & E crimes close to my place, I get really cautious and somewhat freaked. I am a skeptic but I would not stay in a so-called haunted house by myself in the night. I do not believe in ghosts, but I know my own imagination would scare me silly.

Mine would be if my house alarm would go off when I am home alone and I am upstairs. it also scares me a bit if I know a crime has taken place close to our home. A pizza man was shot and robbed a couple miles from our house. There is gang activity in our town sometimes. its things like that that scare the cramp out of me. Over active mind.

Now my yard is full of the fluffy white stuff. It looks like a currier and ives collector plate. Bad folks would have to wade through the snow and get their bojangles frozen off if they wanted to mess with me. Winter has it's high points. Vampires get bored. Banchees get restless. Ghosts get frozen. Life is good.

If I'm alone I'm imagining all manner of death and destruction happening to those who are not with me...imagining the phone ringing, voices talking, fingers pointing.

There was this once though, here I am, alone in the kitchen...reading or typing and I glance off to my left...something must have caught my eye and I felt the need to turn to look. So that's what I did...I turned and looked. It's dark outside, right, the fluorescent kitchen lights are reflected in the breakfast nook windows. I'm looking out there now trying to refresh my memory...and it is even blacker now than that night. Although it is dark, was dark that night...I could make out the back wall of the garage...maybe we had some moonlight...or starlight...as it was brighter that night. Saw a face looking at me...or peaking at me around the back wall of the garage. Big. Not like it was human or anything like that...oh no...this face was big. Disembodied, too. I think I did one of those comical double-takes we've all seen...squinted...looked...gave me the heebie jeebies is what it did. Looked a tad like this:
th
...no, really, just the head and he wasn't smiling...I assume it was a he...

It kills all the wee beasties too (as Mom called them) - you know bugs and such - I am glad I do not like in a tropical country

Being a ghost hunter is all good, (when I go looking for ghosts) but when it's time to go home and the idea that they may have tagged along for the ride bothers me. My cat has freaked out about three times after an investigation. She goes from being a the mellowist cat ever that is friendly to strangers, I can hold her upside down by her back legs and she would just hang there with complete trust with no concerns =P into hissing, growling, tail bushed out, following something I can't see around the house. Jumps at the slightest provocation. I have had her for four years, she has only done this three times. Each time was after an investigation. THAT is when I get a little spooked.
