Hello, folks,
Question for resident Bostonians here. We're entertaining an idea of going to Boston for a coupla days. Besides the aquarium and the Science Museum, where would you recommend we take 2 boys ages 8 and 6?
Thanks

Thanks, everyone. We'll add the USS Constitution Museum and the duckboat tour to our itinerary. We'll do the Children's Museum if the time allows and if weather turns to sh!t - I think, the boys have outgrown the concept anyway.
If we do decide to go, I'm very open to meeting up to shoot the sh!t for an hour or so over a proper cup of tea.

...you could try to find Steve's seat at Fenway....it will smell like Maine and Unicorn sneezes....

Now imagine a headline in one of Boston newspapers: "Man with a thick Russian accent and wearing Yankees cap caught sniffing seats at Fenway Park."
Can you plead insanity on trespassing charges?!

First off, beware the drivers. yee. I had the bad timing of being there during college initiation and move in week.

I did take the drive up to Salem. They have mock witch trials. And plays.
Probably not the best thing for children.

I did a whale watch in Boston. There were a lot of children on the boat.

I saw pilot whales, I saw two humpbacks coming up, breaching and tail up at same time.. Spraying. And another whale, I am sorry to say I don't remember the name, but they say it was rare to see, and it was huge.

Magical.

Think of the driving as an adventure!

Salem has a bunch of stuff other than the mock trials and plays.

This is on my bucket list. I want to see Nantucket and the whaling history museums, the whole shebang. At the risk of repeating myself, I became enamored with whaling through my marine biology class in middle school and Melville's book. Shows like Cheers and Wings fostered a renewed interest in this area and its history. I hear Nova Scotia is another place that attracts whale watchers.

I can not say how magical this is. Saw whales in Nova Scotia as well. Cape Breton.
Mostly pilot whales. But others. But the pilot whales.. They were following and splashing and having a good ole time. Coming right up to the boat.
Like big goofy dolphins. :)
