That is one scary looking toad. You wouldn't like the ones that have invaded South Florida
I've never seen one that big but they are big. Around 15 years ago, I saw one for the first time. I was pulling into my driveway one night and I thought there was a cat in my driveway until it hopped away. They've been here since the 30s but were mostly around the sugar cane fields in the center of the state (they were imported to kill cane grubs and they do eat them in a lab setting but when they were turned loose, the idiots that brought them here realized it wasn't going to do much good since toads don't fly and grubs do. ) but are now all over South Florida. They are poisonous and can kill a dog or cat if the pet paws at it or trys to put the toad in it's mouth.

I thought you were going to say it was knocking on the door.....I had weird visions of "little pig, little pig, let me come in" racing through my mind for a minute.I have to be careful when I leave the door open for the dog to go outside that I don't get one in the house. One night I was watching tv and kept hearing this knocking sound. I couldn't figure out what it was and I was moving stuff around trying to find where this weird sound was coming from. I finally discovered a giant toad was behind my couch jumping into the wall over and over.

No worries..... All toads are welcome here.....until they want the tv remote and the popcorn, that is.Sunny, I didn't mean to hijack your cute toad thread with big nasty ugly ones.

Oh, I'd expect that from the Aussies... eh, CriticAndProud ?The Aussies have these too. They imported them at the same time Florida did. I think they are mostly in the Northern part of Australia but Australia has a huge problem with them. The problem seems worse in Australia (because everything is more deadly in Australia ) than Florida.
I'm glad you posted that. I've been looking for a new mode of transportation, you think I could saddle that baby up and ride him?
They are surprisingly fast for their size.
I'm not sure how economical the transportation would be. Feeding these toads might cost more than gas.
