On his shell he holds the earth.
Can you give it a forever home if it has no owner??
He actually belongs to someone here who thought my day would be vastly be improved by a puppy sleeping on my desk. She was right!

It was just a little strange finding a sleeping dog on your desk!

But, man, I wish I could keep him! He's SO cute!!!!

Puppy love lifts the mind, body and spirit. So glad someone brought this joy into your life- if only for a short period of time. Puppies are the best.

I start work at 8.15am, at 8.16 as I was walking in the gate, my cell phone starts ringing - its my boss. I dont answer it thinking "ok well I'm here". Now bear in mind he knows I have got no stuff, no house, am staying miles away from where I work all due to the flooding plus he has been on holiday for a week. I walk in and he says "I tried to call you, since you're late"...I look at my watch and reply "its 8.17...".He then tells me, rudely that I start work at 8.15 and there is work to be done and he has better things to do than my job.
I can understand being spoken to about being a few minutes late if it happens all the time. It doesnt, until last week I live a 2 min walk from work and am never late. I also dont take my morning break...why would you when you only work till 1pm? and I rarely leave before 1.10pm...Its not a factory, there is no whistle, so I go when I have done everything I want to have done for the day.
I point this all out to him, trying very hard not to cry ( I am not a crier but for the last 48 hours I keep welling up...go figure)and he says "you start work at 8.15 and here is where you should be at 8.15, not still on your way" and walked off.
Thats my strange thing. I find it strange that anyone can be that unreasonable and unfair.

Also, random strange side note. My kids book about the Titanic, that has little pop out bits an such, was completely submerged in the flooded lounge...yet must have been so squished between books it stayed dry. Weird. The Unsinkable Book?

That really sucks Winter - you have been through a traumatic event (flooding!) and lost many of your possessions, been uprooted from your home and relocated a much greater distance from work than before and all he can do is give you grief over being there two minutes past your start time.

It's a shame you did not pick up that call at 0816 and tell him you were already there!

(Maybe he was peeved at having to come back to work after a week's vacation and just took it out on you?) (Is he normally a bully?)
