Oh boy,
Tough call indeed,
Number one for me,
The all encompassing Tower connections that cross through many books,

Then all the Derry and surrounding townships,

I guess the only book I've had trouble finishing is "Lindsey's story",
The rest of his works is in perpetual rotation, constantly
;)

I loved The Library Policeman. Was it the slow and meandering pace you didn't like? I had a hard time connecting to the protagonist at first. The dark humor notwithstanding, I found it genuinely scary. It probably could've been a short story...maybe the length of something like Dedication or The Monkey.
Four Past Midnight summons up warm (or chilling, lol) memories for me. All four novellas were astonishing, wacky, and vintage King from the days of IT, Misery and Needful Things.
I hate to sound like a prude, but
the rape scene ruined it for me.

Also, it comes off (IMO) as a weak retread of IT.

This thread has made me realize I lack reading only Thinner, Blaze, and Black House. And then I'll have read all of King's published works. :(
your reply made me realize that Black House was one that never really sucked me in. don't know why. it is probably worth another chance but i actually abondoned it the first time around.......
