I called the county attorney, and the guy there said I was eligible for their diversion program. It’s not traffic school, but similar. If I did traffic school, I would have to pay $39 for the class plus pay the ticket—$187. With the diversion program, I pay a flat fee of $160, no points on my license, and insurance is not affected.
I had to go to the courthouse and sign up, and now they’ll mail me the info I need to do the program online.
So I’m relieved. I’ll never speed again.
