That might explain why I'm not seeing bluebirds. I didn't realize wrens were so aggressive. Maybe I'll chop down that thorn bush after all.....I hate wrens. They are very aggressive and overtake my bluebird boxes. If there are bluebird eggs in the nest they destroy them and throw the shells out. If there are bluebird chicks in the boxes they kill them and throw them out of the box. Then make their own nests. I’ve even made special boxes just for wrens so they don’t kill my bluebirds, but they still do it anyway. I’ve had it with them. If bluebirds set up house in my boxes this year I’m really tempted to use the BB gun on any wrens with ulterior motives.
Please do not chop down the thorn bush. We all know how you can have "issues" with tools. (meant with humor and much love)
Nice story in the papers over here today about a Blue Tit getting snapped by a traffic camera on one of our motorways!

I guess you're right. Guess I'll have to do it slowly with the pruners.....

Last year, I kept seeing birds that looked like robins, except they have black/white speckled feathers. They have the red belly and look like a robin otherwise. Any clue what they are?

Nope, I've been googling for a photo and can't find one. Only the belly is red.....all the other feathers are speckled black and white.Sounds like a Baltimore Oriole.......maybe?
This one comes the closest to what I've seen, but isn't exact.
The ones I see have more black....but yes, that's very similar.Does it look like this?
