I finished the story 25 minutes ago, BTW-I hate to cut it that close. I don't like to finish days ahead because I want the story to be fresh in my mind, but I don't like to finish this late either! :)
I hear you. I finished it this afternoon, but usually like time to think about what I have read. It was a little difficult to process for me. Reminded me a little of 11-22-63.

I think the question Stephen King raises in the gem in the back "Who am I when I write?" is one of his general themes, that to me runs through many of his stories. Like the 'other' in The Dark Half, or even his characters who have various shades of good and not so good within.

I'm not familiar with the authors SK mentions in the Notes.
Raymond Chandler was a short story guru. He did a bunch of Philip Marlow stories (I was big into mysteries as a kid). I know some, but not all.
