I am just about finished reading Under the Dome and I've got to say I have never seen so many spelling and grammar errors in a book. Ever, Very Disappointing, making the book very hard to read. Not sure that I'll ever read another Stephen King

Yes it is, was that an insult?? I happen to be an avid reader and read several books in a month.
I have never encountered errors such as these. I'm talking about ?? (question) marks in the middle of words, almost every compound word in the book has a question mark in the middle of it. yyyy and xxxx randomly through out the book usually in the middle of a paragraph and then a new paragraph will start in the middle of a word or sentence. Words like the, him, he, it, is misspelled. Random letters in the middle of other words, usually a j, i, or l. Names mispelled. Random numbers throughout the text.

That sounds like some bootlegged version or something. Mine was a very nice clean version. Give some page numbers so members can check their copies.

I have a first edition, first printing and I did not notice any of these type of errors.
Of course, there may have been a typical misspelling here and there, but I tend to get so absorbed into the story, that I really don't notice the little things.

Anyway, Welcome!
Hope you'll continue reading SK.....he's never let me down in the 34 years that I've been reading and enjoying his work :)

Dana Jean is right... if there are question marks in the middle of words, you must have read a bootlegged version. UTD is pretty big. Carpel tunnel may have caused many of the errors.

Sometimes, too, that kind of odd formatting is caused by OCR software when the material has been scanned rather than directly typed which is another reason why it makes me think it could be a pirated copy.

Many many years ago, SK wrote a short story that was only released as an e-book. I forgot the story's name but I think it was later included in a collection. Anywayssssss... People with Macintosh couldn't download the story and CJ was so sad, I typed it for her. Believe me, there were plenty of typos lol.

That was "Riding the Bullet" which was a bit of irony since Steve and his office staff only use Macs. After Steve found out that it wasn't available for Macs, he went to the publisher and they fixed that problem.
