Did they write out the fortunes by hand as well, Hoss?
LOL, no they had them in a little basket. It was actually pretty amazing to watch them fold the cookie using these metal bars on stands in front of them. There is a lot of skill involved. They let us try. I made a fortune lump.

FYI, they taste SOOOOOOOO much better when they are freshly cooked.

I was in San Fran a few years back and went into a little shop where they were making fortune cookies by hand.

Note I said BY hand, not out of HAND...

We had the same experience. I just couldn't imagine sitting there day after day, folding up that hot dough all day long. I was also appalled in Chinatown by some of the grandfathered wiring and such. It's a different place, that's for sure.

The situation reminds me of a joke. Best told in a Scottish accent:

"Didja hear about poor Angus dyin'?"

"Oh, no! I didn't! What happened?"

"He was workin' at the distillery, fell into a vat of scotch, and drowned."

"Oh, no, that's terrible!"

"Yeah! An' we tried to rescue him, but he fought us off."

Yeah, lots of that knob and tube paper coated wiring from the 20's and 30's.
