Ok. So I can't imagine the theme park hasn't approached Mr King about creating an attraction inspired by one of his stories. They're doing it with AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON right now. I dunno. Maybe the movie studios own those kind of rights. Does anyone one here (moderator, ahem) have any insight into this?

C'mon. Think of all the cool rides and stuff they could come up with, and not just for Mr King's work. What about Joe's? Yeah. Universal could send people careening down a hill, in shopping carts, the ride ending with the kids being launched into a big swimming pool. Call it IGGY'S WILD RIDE, a little play on words to Disney's ride featuring that toad fella. And hey, what about a roller coaster designed like the car Christine, dipping and climbing and zipping around the turns to rock and roll music?

He has been approached numerous times with theme park ideas although none from a major studio that I'm aware of. Stephen has absolutely no interest in that sort of thing.

Does he have no interest in having an active part in an SK haunted house them park, or is he against the notion of people using his work as a haunted house theme?

I guess he could even be indifferent to a haunted house theme park based on his work, except that his name would be attached to it, and if **** flies it would be in his direction. Also I suppose it would bemuse the public if there was an SK them park that wasn’t endorsed by SK who might not like, or even dislike, the blasted theme park.

Ah, the curse of being a public figure.

I think the intent of this thread specifically was would SK license his work to do a themed scare house at Universal Studios for HHN, not necessarily a full time year round attraction or theme park. This year they did several shows like Walking Dead and Resident Evil. They also had an Evil Dead house. Something like a Pet Sematary themed walk through would be pretty amazing. But I am guessing that Universal only does themes from Universal studio releases, etc.
