Even the show is colossally bad, I bet they renew it. Although down quite a bit from last year, the ratings are still good compared to the other awful Summer network shows.
The fact that Season 2 was announced in late June of last year does give a little pause though.

Okay, I finally got completely caught up on season two tonight... when I got to the lima beans bit earlier, I laughed my ass off! ( Dana Jean )
I'd wondered how in a town where everyone was getting ready to starve, they could possibly have overlooked so many cans of food... then I thought. 'Oh yeah, they're lima beans!'
(I actually wondered quite a few other things too... but I am waaaay too polite to mention them.

Oh! One more thing, would someone please tell Barbie to quit caressing Julia on her ouchie bits? That shyte has got to hurt!

I think they're walking a fine line here. They have to provide enough answers to make the constant viewers time invested seem worthwhile but leave the door open for a UTD season 3. They could wrap everything up with a 2 hr show but not in just 1 hr. I guess like everyone else on the SKMB I'll be glued to my set tonight

Here's what I hope will get answered by this season's end, and I believe you pointed this out, too: Finding out what or who put the dome up, so Chester's Mills can deal with them, instead of daily "OMG we are out of food/clothes/it's too cold/we need your gas, etc." problems.
Since the government wants the egg, I think they know something, but I don't think they may be responsible for putting the dome up. I forgot who said this, but I like the idea of them knowing that a similar situation happened before.
I'm going with supernatural beings/aliens for now. It would be kinda WHOA if a human or someone we didn't expect to be involved with the whole dome thing. I would also love to see other worlds....

All I ask of the season finale is to have this season's questions resolved, and then maybe present a new question/cliffhanger that leads us to the start of season 3 (if there is one)! I'm thinking CBS will renew the show, though.HAHA. Ok!

Well we know it won't be like the book (alien children playing with the humans). I'm still leaning towards Chester Mills being protected by the Dome and the rest of the world has under gone some catastrophic change (i.e. Ebola Virus, Cell Phone madness...nahhhh!, Zombie infestation). Hopefully we all get answers and not more questions.

I like that idea. I guess since the military launched missiles at the dome in season one, it must be something otherworldly trying to save them... except that doesn't tie in the 25 year cycle... or maybe it does
