...again, very upscale.....our facility holds over 2,500(135% of capacity)and is primarily a dormitory style setting 125 bunk beds per side, 250 per floor or thereabouts...we go an emergency run, and we are truly surrounded...a couple of C.O.'s and the two of us from medical...used to really be nerve-wracking when I first started...
I bet it was nerve-wracking!
...it's very difficult to try to watch your back and tend to an inmate at the same time....I've been in a few verbal exchanges with some, but nothing physical as yet...
I hear yah. I had some close calls at the shelter...which was intox in its nature...mostly drunks. I am here a smallish woman with just verbal skills lol. One cop told me he would never do it without his gun lol. I did have a lady cop who worked for me at the shelter. Just for an extra bit of cash for the dinner table.
...anymore, I am more wary around my "co-workers" than I am the inmates...
They are the first to stab you in the back.
...if only I could make the money I do elsewhere, but not gonna happen...plus retirement and benefits....I'm roped around the wallet....Time for a career change?
