Sunny - same here! Registered Republican since 1983, but vote for the best candidate with no regard to party. I've often thought of changing my party affiliation, but let's be honest - if I haven't done it by now, it's not going to happen.I'm registered as Republican, but I do vote for Democrats as well as a few Libertarians.....
I know, I know.....I'm a heretic
Are you saying that you don't trust me?My bomb sniffing dog has a cold.......
Are you saying that you don't trust me?
Only one way to know for sure......You would never pull the football?
I figure why change?......it's more fun this way!Sunny - same here! Registered Republican since 1983, but vote for the best candidate with no regard to party. I've often thought of changing my party affiliation, but let's be honest - if I haven't done it by now, it's not going to happen.
Makes sense. Since Susan Collins is a shoe-in for re-election, I guess she didn’t need any extra help. Playing the Stephen King ad on NPR and linking it to their website sure reached and reaches a lot of people wouldn't you agree? I wonder how much something like that would be worth?.Here's the whole story. 3 minutes, 35 seconds (but reads faster). Bear-Baiting And Big Races Drown Portland, Maine, In Campaign Ads : It's All Politics : NPR
An excerpt: "Also getting a lot of attention is the state's U.S. Senate race. Republican Susan Collins is seen as a shoe-in for re-election. But that hasn't stopped her Democratic opponent, Shenna Bellows, from advertising in the Portland TV market, which covers the more Democratic-leaning southern part of the state. Her campaign has been running an ad featuring the endorsement of perhaps Maine's most famous resident, novelist Stephen King." And then the commercial plays, presumably to illustrate the point.
And yeah, apparently bear baiting is a big issue in Maine.
The article finishes with what everyone, perhaps, wants to hear: "Fear not, though: The campaign ads in Portland and almost everywhere else will fade to black in a week." I don't know that articles are wrestled to have 50-50 in percentage of words weighted exactly to each side, but for context, one might listen to or read the entire thing.
Here's some more talk about the Maine elections from NPR: Blue State With Independent Twist: Maine's 3-Way Race For Governor : NPR - 4 minutes, 2 seconds (but reads faster)
The other articles on Maine politics were from 2012 and prior, so we can probably skip those.

Gee, how will that work with the new photo ID requirements? Will you have to send in a pic of yourself marking the ballot, and sign a statement affirming its authenticity?'Voter Shaming'? This is another reason why I am glad that my state has mail-in voting. I sent mine in last week, by the way.
I don't know. I have a mail-in voter's registration card from my State.Gee, how will that work with the new photo ID requirements? Will you have to send in a pic of yourself marking the ballot, and sign a statement affirming its authenticity?
