I liked it, too. I would watch a second season. I have the first book to read but not the other 2 yet. I am not sure if it is coming back for another season or if that was it? The info button on my tv said series finale, but I am almost sure I heard season finale during the "coming up next" blurb at the end of whatever was shown before it.

Guess the finale works, either way. There was enough closure to be satisfied, and enough of an opening to continue.

They just love leaving things open don't they?

With Wayward Pines finished, so far showrunner Chad Hodges says none of it was setting up a second season, “it was never designed to have a Season 2. It was always these 10 episodes.” However, Hodge sounds like he’s willing to consider working on a second season.

I think FOX officially canceled it. I definitely would have watched another season.

Well there aren't any more books right now anyway. I read that when they were filming the series the last book had either just come out or was not yet released. It certainly left the door open for more. But it did just kind of suddenly end and left a lot of in between stuff untold. Plus the time before all of it was only lightly touched upon. I guess I'll read the books now. I hear lots of good things about them.

Overall, thumbs up. Good plot and twist and was a nice fun summer show. They could've cast some of the roles better (especially Matt Dillon, sorry Tex) and some of the dialogue was atrociously stupid and unrealistic. But again, it was worth watching and had an excellent overall plot.
I thought it was good and I liked Matt Dillon.

He's a big piece of wood. mama like.
I've met him three times. All in Tulsa while filming. Once during The Outsiders, once during Rumble Fish (which I was an extra in during a street scene) and once during the filming of Tex. Nice guy. Took pictures with folks and sign autographs. He was pretty young then.

Was that the end of the season? I think I want to read the books--there's a definite sense of, "Started this thing with no plan how to move the story along," in the show. A purposeful meander is okay, but I don't get that sense here.

I'm gonna get the books.......

Me too!

I would have liked it to end where we were before the kid woke up again, but... I can certainly appreciate the ironic twist, even if I don't like it. But as someone else said, I wouldn't watch a sequel.

Do get the books. They took a different direction. I haven't seen the end of the series yet, but the end of the last book didn't let me down.

I think you guys will like the books. I read all three in like a week's time; stopped watching the series, as the books were enough for me.
Although I agree with Dana Jean , this Mama like Matt Dillon too!

I also forget to add that there is an SK connection here. Around my birthday in 1982, my dad took me to see Creepshow in the theater. We then went to have pizza. On the way from the theater to the pizza place, we turned down the wrong street and into the set of Rumble Fish. My dad recognized Francis Ford Coppola on a boom platform and parked. We walked over to watch a bit. There was no crowd around, just the crew and actors. Matt Dillon was standing off set and I recognized him from The Outsiders set I had been to a few months earlier. I had a lot of friends get into the movie theater scene in that movie, but I showed up too late to get in. Anyway so I walked over to Dillon and said I met him earlier that year. He said hi and asked what I thought of all the movie stuff. Anyway Coppola sees me and comes over and asks my dad if he could use me in the background. He said yes and there ya go. So had we not gone to see Creepshow that day, I would have never been on that set. :)

I read all three books before I saw the TV show. I thought they did a good job with the TV show although the TV show did stray from the book quite a bit. Even though the show strayed from the book quite a bit, I don't think they ever lost the spirit of the book like UTD did. From what I understand, there was never supposed to be a second season, this was just going to be a 10 episode and done show. All 3 novels were done in the 10 episodes so what comes next will be all new. I think that's a good way to do a TV show based on a book. Do the entire book (or books) in one season and then if you want to go on, add to it from there.
