From the preview of the next episode, it looks like they may finish the first book in that one, or maybe one more? It's kinda hard to tell because the show isn't matching up to the novels in some aspects. You know, if ratings are good, they'll go a whole different way if they feel they can squeeze some more episodes out of it.
Well it's a 10 episode mini-series supposedly. It seemed like these books would be the type that couldn't work in a straight linear translation.

Oh, I figured if ratings were good, they'd make more.
They actually are linear...that's for me to know (how) and you to find out!
I am liking it. I still think LOST is the best show ever and I was a huge Twin Peaks fan. I love weird and quirky shows like this. Matt Dillon is a bit wooden, but each episode is getting progressively better. Or I am becoming more tolerant of any shortcomings, not sure which. LOL :)

I like it too, and I enjoyed Twin Peaks...I missed Lost though :(
I agree that Dillon is wooden, but there's something about his face and voice that I really like.

Oh, watch LOST. It's awesome. Long series, with some slow parts here and there, but the artistry and characters of that show are amazing. It's poignant and enthralling at times. And so many mysteries. besides, Uncle Steve's influence is ALL OVER that show.

Great episode. And I'm sorry, I like Matt Dillon. His persona works for this show.

Not sure why only the kids can know this information. And it sounds like Matt's character will learn this information. Yes, they are the future. But not all parents are going to take their family into the garage and hook up the monoxide. Some will be grateful to have a "normal" life away from the creatures.

It was a mind blower for sure.
I want an explanation/ more information- maybe in future weeks?
I had a few ideas formed about it, but it was way more than I imagined.

Gonna have to wait two weeks for next episode. The reveal explains the time differences. We weren't seeing parallel time back in Seattle, it was the distant past. The "cheaters" theme wasn't really accurate. It seems more that it's people who exhibited tough mental stature and the desire to do their own thing maybe. Still not sure what served as the criteria for being chosen.

I've given this some thought. My guess is the books explain this better, but it also looks like this will be the main topic in upcoming episodes. How many would be angry fro being taken from their lives to be preserved for this experiment? How many would try to leave only to be killed? It seems a project like this would require all resources reserved and letting people go nutty with this knowledge burden or want to rule the roost themselves, is a big factor why. Knowing everything isn't always a good thing.

So far this is the most intriguing thing to me...

The time differences for each person. Fro Ethan, it was only a day or two, but to his wife and son it was a few more days. For Kate, it had been 12 years, but only 5 weeks outside there. For Bill Evans it had been 2 years but the same amount of time as Kate's disappearance essentially. Beverly thought she had been there about a year, but it had been 14 years outside. Peter McCall also had a similar opposite time displacement where it had been longer than he thought. It seems each person's time displacement is inconsistent with others.

The other thing I noticed is that everyone (that you have any details about) there seems to be a "cheater" of some sort. Maybe the word "Wayward" makes sense then?

Ooooo... nice.

And they don't age.

(I'm gonna shut up until I finish reading the thread.)

I watched this week's episode and HOLY CRAP!!!!! So Awesome!!!! The big secret finally revealed and it's awesome!!

Crud. I thought I was all caught up but I haven't watched last nights episode. I was wondering what Hoss was talking about.

Well, I haven't watched the last episode but I was wondering

Is Wayward Pines purgatory? Do the people/cheaters condemn their family to suffering along with themselves for their *sins*?

I'm enjoying The Whispers! Although

Little, evil, weird kids creep me out.
