As long as he's using those adjectives to describe you, then you're good. :)

Actually, most of the guys on the floor like me. I'm the guy who explains to the people with more money than sense (most of them in New York) how what they want us to do is physically impossible . . . unless, of course, they can afford to pay a little more.

13) Is there something that you thought you’ve done but can’t remember where or when you did it?

I wanted to revisit this question again (as I made something of a flippant joke in my initial response) mostly because it's relevant to something I noticed while reading Finders Keepers and getting to know Morrie.

To the best of my knowledge I never did anything overtly violent or illegal (or at least, not very illegal) while I was blackout drunk, but it was not unusual -- once upon a time -- to wake up in my own bed (usually fully dressed) with my car parked safely in the dooryard . . . and absolutely no recollection of having driven home.

There was another thread recently where somebody mentioned how glad they were that they grew up before the age when everybody started walking around with a video camera in their pocket. I wouldn't even begin to guess how many times acquaintances of mine would greet me after a particular debauchery with open smirks and shaking heads; marveling at some foolishness that I had been up to of which I had no memory at all.

You'd think that kind of thing would make you stop and think . . . but it doesn't.

Not always.

the time on the computer ran out yesterday while I was in the library.

1. Who do you feel is the best male singer ever? Jeff Lynne from ELO, Harry Nilsson, my mother would have said Johhny Mathis(when you begin the begin), Frank Sinatra, Pavrotti, add: Billy Idol; Roy Orbison; the singer from 'Bread'; Seals and Croft singing 'Summer Breeze'; Sister Golden Hair; but Justin Hayward must be the 'man' singing 'knights in white satin' and 'forever autumn'. Nat King Cole; there was this good radio article about Little Richard the other day; Marvin Gaye; Michael Jackson; The singer from 'The Hollies'; Wayne Newton; Glen Campbell; Frankie Valli; We get Casey Kasem's American Top 40 repeats on 2NUR-FM on the weekend here. I've been listening to that show since maybe 1980, since he passed away recently. America coast to coast. American Top 40. I think it was November 1973 last weekend.

2. What song title best represents your life? Fink Bros-Mutants in Mega City One

3. What about being an adult do you wish someone had told you about before it happened? Be prepared; there are monsters out there and they're called humans

4. Post a picture or gif that shows us your personality.
repo-man-1984-_130246-fli_1363278797.jpg

5. Of what are you the “King” or “Queen?” Narcissism

6. Did you ride bikes when growing up? Describe. Had a ten speed Harley Davidson type push bike when I was 10

7. Have you ever had an odd/cool encounter with a wild animal? Met a brown bear once. A possum grabbed a sausage roll out of my hand while I was eating it.

8. You have to trade lives with a celebrity. Who will it be and why? A film director maybe or someone the paparazzi don't want to follow. Maybe Clint Eastwood.

9. What documentary would you recommend for us to watch? I like those Ken Burns docs, I saw the one on 'Jazz' about a year ago. I like the American Civil War one as well. I like the docs that Neil Oliver does on the BBC.

10. Think of a weird co-worker. What makes them so weird? John, I won't mention his last name but he had a bright orange souped up muscle car and after work, him, two others, and I decided to go out to Penrith to see a Rugby League match I think it was Monday night football. So he's swerving around corners on the wrong side of the road(he wasn't drunk) and I told him to pull over I'm getting out.

11. (For Siggy) You suspect your next door neighbor is a serial killer. What do you do? Sign here, I've got the rights to your 'tell all' biography. No, keep tabs, and maybe notify the authorities.

1. Who do you feel is the best male singer ever?
My opinion is constantly changing on this.

2. What song title best represents your life?
Happy to Be Stuck With You (Huey Lews and the News.....stop laughing!)

3. What about being an adult do you wish someone had told you about before it happened?
Just exactly how much worry comes with having a child.

4. Post a picture or gif that shows us your personality.
image.jpeg

5. Of what are you the “King” or “Queen?”
Sarcasm.

6. Did you ride bikes when growing up? Describe.
Yes! I had a yellow banana seat bike and I coveted my friends pink Huffy because the seat was more comfortable for riding off curbs.

7. Have you ever had an odd/cool encounter with a wild animal? Describe.
Not really but whenever we are hiking and a pheasant takes off it ALWAYS scares the crap out of me.

8. You have to trade lives with a celebrity. Who will it be and why?
Who ever owns the best private island because it would be the only way to get any real privacy.

9. What documentary would you recommend for us to watch? Gray Gardens followed by the Documentary Now version of it starring Bill Hader and Fred Armisan.(I probably spelled Gray wrong)

10. Think of a weird co-worker. What makes them so weird?
I am a stay at home mom so I don't have that problem. But I would probably enjoy weird co-workers.

11. (For Siggy) You suspect your next door neighbor is a serial killer. What do you do?
I suspect this on a daily basis.I'm keeping my eye on him and listening for any strange noises coming from the basement.

I'll tell you what it is:

I remember Steve Perry because karaoke people still try to sing Steve Perry (even though they know they can't), but nobody tries to karaoke Freddie Mercury.

(except those guys in Wayne's World, that one time)
At the karaoke bar often, are we?

Not so much anymore, although there was a time . . .

I'll say roughly the same thing about singing that I just said about dancing in another thread:

I'm a lot better at it (in my own head) when I'm drunk.

Of course . . . opinions on this subject vary widely.

Well . . . file this under: Don't Leave Your Toys Lying Around For Anyone To Pick Up, but . . .

Idle hands, and all that.

So . . . where shall we start?

1. What is a good reason to break a promise (or a trust)?

2.
In The Good, The Bad And The Ugly, Blondie tells Tuco, "There are two kinds of people in the world . . . those with loaded guns, and those who dig." What do you say? What two kinds of people are there in your world?

3. What do you feel is the most precious gift you can give . . . or if you don't like that, what is the most precious gift you would like to receive?

(Hint: If you say "love," we'll all know you're not really trying)

4. Annie Wilkes is mad at you. Your Number-One Fan is very disappointed, she's going to cut off your dominant hand, or both of your feet . . . but it's up to you. Which and why?

5. Very similar to #4: I've killed someone very dear to you -- brutally -- and you know it for a fact. My punishment is up to you, and further, you may inflict it, if you choose: Do you want that responsibility, and if so, how would you wield it?

6. You have a magic wand that will work once. Don't play games with more "wishes." How do you wield that wand?

7. How do you pamper yourself when you believe you deserve it?

8. Tell us a travel story. It can be funny, wishful, horrific . . . whatever. Where did you go and what happened that makes it a story?

9. You can be reincarnated as anything but what you are now: How would you come back and why?

10. What do you like best and least about your experience here on the forum? You may answer either or both.

Long pleasance and nightly days.

Or however that goes.

Idle hands, and all that.

So . . . where shall we start?

1. What is a good reason to break a promise (or a trust)?

When someone you love might be badly hurt by your silence.

2.
In The Good, The Bad And The Ugly, Blondie tells Tuco, "There are two kinds of people in the world . . . those with loaded guns, and those who dig." What do you say? What two kinds of people are there in your world?

Those that I can trust... and others that I cannot.

3. What do you feel is the most precious gift you can give . . . or if you don't like that, what is the most precious gift you would like to receive?
(Hint: If you say "love," we'll all know you're not really trying)

Friendship... it can come in many forms and bring such a variety of benefits.

4. Annie Wilkes is mad at you. Your Number-One Fan is very disappointed, she's going to cut off your dominant hand, or both of your feet . . . but it's up to you. Which and why?

My dominant hand... it brings her close to my head and gives me more chance of successfully "Liverpool Kissing" her... and therefore making my escape.

5. Very similar to #4: I've killed someone very dear to you -- brutally -- and you know it for a fact. My punishment is up to you, and further, you may inflict it, if you choose: Do you want that responsibility, and if so, how would you wield it?

I'd have your a$$ thrown in jail and would try to forget you exist.

6. You have a magic wand that will work once. Don't play games with more "wishes." How do you wield that wand?

With one swipe I would make human beings incapable of hatred.

7. How do you pamper yourself when you believe you deserve it?

I try to be alone for a little while, maybe eat some chocolate.

8. Tell us a travel story. It can be funny, wishful, horrific . . . whatever. Where did you go and what happened that makes it a story?

I haven't been too many places... used to hitchhike to concerts in my late teens, slept under a few bridges.

9. You can be reincarnated as anything but what you are now: How would you come back and why?

Charlie Hunnam's pillow. Or duvet... or spa towel.

10. What do you like best and least about your experience here on the forum? You may answer either or both.

I love interacting with everyone... and have made some wonderful life-long friends.
Being growly Flake/Mod isn't very pleasant... I don't like it when crap hits the fan.

What was the name of the guy in Christine who hitchhiked to concerts in order to panhandle? I'll bet he wished he could have been asleep under a bridge just before . . .

Oooops!

No spoilers.

1. What is a good reason to break a promise (or a trust)?

Anytime where the net-benefit outweighs the potential losses.

2.
In The Good, The Bad And The Ugly, Blondie tells Tuco, "There are two kinds of people in the world . . . those with loaded guns, and those who dig." What do you say? What two kinds of people are there in your world?

Well, it depends. If you want an actual division that I perceive daily, I'm a Marxist, so I'd say the prols and the bourgeoisie. However, on a personal note, I'd say people who make me happy, and those who don't.

3. What do you feel is the most precious gift you can give . . . or if you don't like that, what is the most precious gift you would like to receive?

Commitment. It's all well and good to say you love someone, but when the dopamine is gone, you may think differently. Commitment is more important than words.

4. Annie Wilkes is mad at you. Your Number-One Fan is very disappointed, she's going to cut off your dominant hand, or both of your feet . . . but it's up to you. Which and why?

Cut off both my feet please.

Don't ask about the hand. :D

5. Very similar to #4: I've killed someone very dear to you -- brutally -- and you know it for a fact. My punishment is up to you, and further, you may inflict it, if you choose: Do you want that responsibility, and if so, how would you wield it?

Daily, non-fatal violent assault.

6. You have a magic wand that will work once. Don't play games with more "wishes." How do you wield that wand?

Whatever I did, I would want it to fundamentally change the world. Maybe I'd remove death (except for people who desire it).

7. How do you pamper yourself when you believe you deserve it?

Um....I don't think I do actually.

8. Tell us a travel story. It can be funny, wishful, horrific . . . whatever. Where did you go and what happened that makes it a story?

We were coming back from The Dish, and drove through a swarm of locusts. Locust guts went in the air con and the grill, and the whole car smelt like arse.

9. You can be reincarnated as anything but what you are now: How would you come back and why?

I'd want to be someone with life-long companionship.

10. What do you like best and least about your experience here on the forum? You may answer either or both.

Best: The friends I've met.

Least: Not sure, really. I can't think of any one event.

...When I come here, this has a very coffee-shop discussion atmosphere....I havent meant anybody that is blatantly disrespectful, no trolls (yet), no bullies, etc. which is a huge Plus
