1. When is the last time you've been embarrassed?

It's been a while, but it was at a meeting in 2013 with management, HR and the Union present (prefer not to go into detail)

2. Who was your first crush?

Could go all Annie Wilkes/fangirl here and say Mr. King, but honestly it is hard to remember if I even had one. I was quite shy when I was younger.

3. What is your favourite make/model of a vehicle?

I will post a picture
1954-Jeep-1-ton-pickup-4x4-876x535.jpg
My Dad had one way back when; I also like the original Wagoneer
rp3wmbbtcns7jpxhlszl.jpg
Cowboy and Horse optional

4. Who is your favourite historical figure?

Was going to say Stephen King (but that's kinda jumping the gun, eh?) The guy is only 69! So I will say Queen Elizabeth II - I don't know if she will last past 105, like her mother did, but she's quite the lady.

5. Coffee or tea? If not, then what?
Tea, hot and now and then Decaf Starbucks Carmel Machiatto for a treat.

6. Have you ever pulled a practical joke on someone? If yes, details.

When I was in the military we distracted this guy while someone put a life sized cardboard cut-out of a woman (G-rated) in the cab of his pickup truck - he had been visiting us at BML (Base Maintenance, Land) when I worked at 8 Wing Trenton. The guy got a good laugh out of it.

7. Do you encounter beggars on the street and, if so, do you give?

I usually say no, but once there was one on the corner while I was stopped at a red light. He did not ask me for anything or hold out a cup. I lowered the window, talked to him for a while, then gave him some Toonies. He seemed genuine.

8. Where you live, do you rent or own?
Own - one of the reasons I moved to this city - real estate prices were very good in the past.

9. What is your favourite thing to wear?
Ummm - a smile? Or is that way too corny?:)

10. Why do you like the SKMB?
People here are nice :rugby:

:cool2: - great questions!

1. How many vehicles have you owned in your life (if you drive)?

Disposable.

Perhaps.

Potato salad.

9. Have you considered buying or making Christmas gifts this year or is it too soon to ask?
I do both.

Weekly Survey September 3rd/4th to September 10th

1. How many vehicles have you owned in your life (if you drive)?
Over 10

2. Which do you prefer - dyed hair or au natural (for both guys and/or girls)?
On me, au natural - way too lazy and cheap to color. On other people, yall can get down however you get down.

3. Do you use throw away (disposable) or rechargeable batteries?
Both

4. Is # 4 the most boring question you've ever been asked?
No.

5. Do you do your income taxes on time and if so do they owe you or do you usually owe them?
Last minute, the feds owe us, but we owe the state.

6. Have you ever taken a parking or speeding ticket to court and won?
Yes.

7. Would you hire a maid service to clean your house if you could afford to?
In a New York minute.

8. What was the last thing you cooked that you were proud of or turned out really good?
Homemade completely from scratch using no recipe veggie burgers. The seven year old diva had seconds.

9. Have you considered buying or making Christmas gifts this year or is it too soon to ask?
I buy gifts all year long, random stuff that strikes me. Toss it all in a box that I pull out at Solstice and allocate. And I also crochet (poorly) small dodads for everyone. On Amazon I also have a full cart of books for giving.

10. Do you like to post in the Politics thread?
I do not. The 2016 election gave my husband a heart attack - literally - so I'm done with political debate.

yes, i am completely procrastinating doing something I love. But does it really count if I started procrastination activities at 5:30 a.m.?

1. What kind of shampoo do you use?
Whatever brand my husband purchases.

2.What is your favorite food?
Potato chips, french fries, tater tots. Pretty much any potato-based product.

3.What temperature do you keep your house?
Warm enough to not freeze, cool enough to not smother. The exact number attached to these conditions fluctuates wildly.

4. Do you have children?
Yup, three of 'em. All at that sweet age - the age where they in their mid-30s to early 40s, are self-sufficient, and providing me with grandchildren.

5. Are you in a relationship?
Many.

6. What is your favorite Stephen King book/movie? (one only)
Different Seasons

7. What is your favorite animal?
Dogs. Specifically, MY dogs.

8. What detergent do you use?
uhhhh..... I would have to go look.

9. Do you body wash or bar soap?
uhhhh.... both? Whatever the husband buys.

10. What is your favorite flavor of ice crème?
Mint chocolate chip

1. What colour is your hair (if you have any that is)?
Brown with fantastic silver highlights.

2. Have you travelled much?
I feel like I have until I see where others have been. Not counting layovers, I've been to Tibet, Nepal, Jamaica, Mexico, Canada. Most recently, my sweetie and I took three weeks for our Great West Coast Road Trip, taking Route 101 from the Canadian border down to connect to Route 1, and took that to where it fell into the ocean in Big Sur. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

3. Do you ever use Facebook?
Used to be avid, but now just vaguely, yes. I stalk my children and grandchildren. I can cook up drama if I want it, and I want it where I can actually and literally smack a mole.

4. Do you wake up happy and refreshed most of the time or do you need lots of coffee to wake up?
I wake up both happy and refreshed most days. Then I drink lots of coffee so I can shimmer.

5. If you exercise what type do you do? i.e. walking or whatever.
Walking, hiking, yoga, tai chi

6. Do you take public transport or do you prefer driving your own vehicle (if you have one?).
I WISH this town had public transportation. When I lived in a real city, I opted for the bus whenever possible. But I love to drive, and I was behind the wheel for our entire Great West Coast Road Trip, which is likely how we wound up accidentally going to Canada. But that's a different list.

7. Was your childhood generally happy or difficult?
Internally, I was a naturally cheerful child with a fantastic imagination in which to escape. Externally, things were pretty damn difficult.

8. What is your "sign".
Leo, but I think NASA changed that?

9. Do you think there is anything to Astrology?
Nah, not really, unless you think there is. Then it is a powerful predictor of just about anything after the fact.

10. Do you like to cook and if so what are you really good at making? i.e. wow recipe or dish.
Bread. I bake a mean loaf of peasant bread.

Still procrastinating.

1. "If you could get rid of one state in the U.S., which would it be and why?"
I wouldn't.

2. "What do you think about when you are alone in your car?"
The next chapter.

3. "What song best describes your work ethic?"
Walkin' on Sunshine (I'm retired lol)

4. "Have you ever stolen a pen from work?"
What? Wasn't that part of the benefits package?
But, seriously? Not on purpose. I've been poor enough to steal toilet paper from gas stations, but pen thievery was purely accidental, never intentional, because, well, I had a job so I could buy my own pens - of a much higher quality.

5. "A penguin walks through that door right now wearing a sombrero. What does he say and why is he here?"
"I'm here for the beer and ..... GOOD GOD IN HEAVEN WHERE DID ALL THE DOGS COME FROM....*squeak*...death rattle..."
And now my dogs know that some toys only squeak once.

6. "How would you rate your memory?"
That's a job for someone else. I have no idea lol

7. "What kitchen utensil would you be?"
big, honkin' butcher knife

8. "How many quarters would you need to reach the height of the Empire State building?"
many

9. "How do you make a tuna sandwich?"
with canned tuna and stuff

10. "What would you choose as your last meal?"
Potato chips and an IPA

1. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A jockey, the kind that rides horses, and a writer. Happily, there are no size restrictions on being a writer.

2. What did you actually wind up doing?
Writing and being a cog in the state government.

3. How many and what kind of pets do you have?
Two XL dogs and one redunkulous 15lb doxie.

4. What has been your favorite place to travel so far?
Kathmandu

5. Where do you most want to travel next?
Ireland

6. What is one thing that made you happy last week?
Me. I make me happy. Everything else is frosting.

7. Are you going to watch the eclipse (or did you, if you answer after)?
We tried. A giant cloud blocked our view.

My 11 year old granddaughter argued incessantly that it wouldn't damage her eyes to watch bare-eyed. Her mother finally snapped, "FINE. WATCH IT. Then you can run around rolling your dead eyes at me for the rest of your life!"

Observing this kind of parenting is how I know I did it right.

8. Next Generation or the original series?
meh.

9. What's the funniest video on the internet?
no idea

10. What is your favorite audiobook to listen to (let's face it, not all King books get great readers)?
I need the book-book. I have never listened to an audiobook.

1. When is the last time you've been embarrassed?
hmmmm. OH RIGHT! When I accidentally drove across an international border with no passport. Don't do that. It's embarrassing and scary.

2. Who was your first crush?
The preacher's son. And before that, Johnny Quest.

3. What is your favourite make/model of a vehicle?
GTO

4. Who is your favourite historical figure?
I have no idea who my favorite is, but I'm sure she's a woman.

5. Coffee or tea? If not, then what?
Coffee in the morning, tea in the evening. Water the rest of the day. And beer on occasion.

6. Have you ever pulled a practical joke on someone? If yes, details.
I know that I have, but I don't recall when or what. Apparently even I don't find my jokes all that funny.

7. Do you encounter beggars on the street and, if so, do you give?
I do encounter folks who are asking for help, and I always give if I have change or bills handy. I don't worry about whether they are "deserving" or how they will spend the money. Been there, done that. Why they are asking and how they got in their current situation is none of my business.

8. Where you live, do you rent or own?
I think the bank still owns at least half the yard, the basement, garage, and the lower floor.

9. What is your favourite thing to wear?
drawstring skirts and a tee shirt

10. Why do you like the SKMB?
yall are nice to me. I like that.

1. What are your grandparents' first names?
Now, if you had to pick one of those to name your child (or have as your name), which do you choose, and why?

Lewis and Trocia (Tro-sha), Clarence and Maude. I like Trocia as a name best, but she was my least favorite grandparent. I would name a child Maude, but nah.

2. What ridiculous thing did someone trick you into believing/doing when you were a kid?
F*&%ing snipe hunting. WTF. I was promised a pet snipe, described as a small furry critter much like a little woodchuck. I held a bag for HOURS in the dark by the creek. They finally had to come find me. I am still furious. WHAR'S MY SNIPE????

3. What movie would you like to see redone as a musical?
oh my dear god, please, no.

or, maybe First Blood?

4. If horses could talk, what would they say?
"How much do you weigh?"

5. What inanimate object do you wish you could eliminate from existence?
The one that stubs my toe. Just magically disappear a split second before impact, and then it can come back once I'm passed.

6. If you were arrested without explanation, what would your family and friends assume you had done?
Protested something a bit to vigorously.

7. What's something you think you'd be good at teaching someone else?
I'm not that good at teaching stuff.

8. When you're attracted to someone, what's the first thing you notice about him/her?
That's he's my husband. And the first thing I noticed about him was that he cheerfully accepted my offer of a tootsie pop when he tooled into class late. I refuse to date anyone who is too manly to suck on a tootsie pop.

9. What was the best thing, the highlight, of your week?
My sweetie stayed home from work yesterday and we laid about reading and playing with the dogs all day.

10. What's the nicest thing you've ever heard someone say about you?
"you are a very kind person, you know that?"
