1. What was the last Stephen King story you read & when did you read it?
Finders Keepers... finished it about a month after it was released

2. Name one goal you’d like to achieve before the Green Ripper comes calling.
I would like to have reached financial security for my family, pay-check to pay-check is terrifying

3. Have you ever caught a fish? And if so, how old were you when you caught your first?
Many. My father took us out lake fishing right from when I could walk

4. Who would you like our next president to be? You can be specific or in general, a governor, a senator, an unknown…but not your self.
Not really my place to say, but I would like Trump to soon lose steam

5. What are some of the things you did as a child, young person, teenager, over the summer months?
Swimming in the river, making "hobo-stoves" and cooking chips on them, hut building in the forest, bike riding, street rugby and cricket, "bull-rush", horse riding, working (waitressing/retail/motel cleaning)

6. Have you ever written anything fictional, story, poetry, memoir with the idea that one day others might read it?
Yes

7. In the area where you were born & raised, what is one thing (or more) that you experienced that was unique to that area? (could be a style/name of clothing, a food or beverage known in that local area as whatever, whereas these same or slightly different items are known by other names in other areas, or maybe it was a game you played, familiar only to those in that particular area)
"Foxton Fizz"... a fizzy (soda?) drink produced in our lil teeny town.

8. Have you ever explored a religion with which you were previously unfamiliar?
Yes

9. What was your driver’s education like?
Oh boy... dad started teaching me but that didn't last long because he was too scary, my brother ended up teaching me.
I did also take a course in high school for a couple of weeks, but when my test time arrived, I was hobbling around on crutches from a soccer injury and ended up failing the test.

After that I...
um.... drove without a licence :icon_eek: for a couple of years and then took and passed the test when I had my first child.

10. Have you ever grown some of your own food?
Oh yes, I have had a regular vegetable garden for a few years now, it's not very large but I love growing things from seeds I've collected throughout the year.
I have just been preparing the soil this week for the coming spring !

Thanks, Walter Oobleck ... great questions! :)

1. What was the last Stephen King story you read & when did you read it?

Finders Keepers, two months ago (I think it was two, maybe less)

2. Name one goal you’d like to achieve before the Green Ripper comes calling.

Finish Merrick.

3. Have you ever caught a fish? And if so, how old were you when you caught your first?

Yes. It was a pissy little one, so we chucked it back in. I was aged 8 - 10.

4. Who would you like our next president to be? You can be specific or in general, a governor, a senator, an unknown…but not your self.

Well, I'm not a U.S citizen, but Sanders. Not a big fan, but unless Lenin rises for the grave and stands for election, I'll throw my support behind Sanders.

5. What are some of the things you did as a child, young person, teenager, over the summer months?

Make movies, watch movies.

6. Have you ever written anything fictional, story, poetry, memoir with the idea that one day others might read it?

I honestly can't think of anything. Just a normal Aussie suburb.

8. Have you ever explored a religion with which you were previously unfamiliar?

I'm doing research into Zen for my Philosophy assignment.

9. What was your driver’s education like?

Going well so far.

10. Have you ever grown some of your own food?

I think at school we did agriculture and grew some stuff.

Soft pretzels aren't exclusively a Philly thing, but you can't get an awesome one outside the city...and nothing goes better with a soft pretzel than "wooder ice" (aka "water ice" aka Italian Ice).

My mother grew up in Delaware and, although she would spend most of her adult life in Massachusetts (where we talk even funnier than you do), she never lost that "warter" pronunciation. She also put an "h" in ice cream, for some reason: Iche Cream.

If I live to be a hundred plus a hundred, I'll never forget my little cousin, Janice, telling us all one time when we were over swimming in uncle Frannie's pool:

You orl torlk furny. (that's not exactly it, but the letters don't exist to make it sound the way she said it).

You all (not y'all) talk funny.

; )

Pucker, how does your mother pronounce the word "towel"? The pronunciation where I'm from is a one-syllable word that sounds a lot like "tale".

(And, yes, we do talk funny. My grandfather sounded like Archie Bunker and also bore quite a resemblance to Carroll O'Connor).

I remember it more as "tarl," but yes . . . definitely one syllable.

I can't do the accent on here (Google Rich Scheidner if you want to hear it), but I use to laugh out loud at mom's cousin Larry asking:

Yoo boys warnna go downa shoor an put th boat inna warter?

1. What was the last Stephen King story you read & when did you read it?

Finders Keepers - finished it yesterday.

2. Name one goal you’d like to achieve before the Green Ripper comes calling.

Be debt free.

3. Have you ever caught a fish? And if so, how old were you when you caught your first?

Yes. I think I was about 6 or 7.

4. Who would you like our next president to be? You can be specific or in general, a governor, a senator, an unknown…but not your self.

No idea. I'm not even sure who I want our next Prime Minister to be. Just not the three running.

5. What are some of the things you did as a child, young person, teenager, over the summer months?

Swimming swimming and then some swimming.

6. Have you ever written anything fictional, story, poetry, memoir with the idea that one day others might read it?

Yes. Wrote a lot of poetry. In high school one of my friends started an unofficial club. Each week we each read one poem we wrote.

Have to think on this one.

8. Have you ever explored a religion with which you were previously unfamiliar?

Absolutely. I was feeling very lost. The church I grew up going to wasn't...right. Not for me anyway. So I took a course called World Religions which meant studying several religions and attending services. In the end....I realized I am Christian....just not really a Catholic.

9. What was your driver’s education like?

Took two courses. Got my licence. Hit a brand new....something. Not trans am....something. Still say it was his fault. He cried. Not even a scratch on his car, really, no reason to cry.

10. Have you ever grown some of your own food?

I can barely keep weeds alive. So no.

Hi Neesy, I've been to those in the past but my 'learning about other cultures' days are over. Now that all my old folks have moved on, the food has never been the same, only a pale comparison (but still good!).
We checked out the UK Pavilion and the Irish Pavilion - both were pretty good.

No, really - I just did a survey (see post # 1644)

Weekly Survey | Page 83 | The StephenKing.com Message Board

It was seven pages ago. I know I have been busy with the sick hubby, but I did not think I was already losing my memory! (well not today, at least).
@ Neesy- that was an old post when Andy was ill and they thought you might not be able to do the surgery. You are correct- you did do one, and now it is Leifs turn this week.
