Congrats to a beautiful grandchild! Ellie is adorable. Though i'm sure i don't need to say that to the proudest Nana on the american conyinents.

Ohhh! She's perfect. You named her Ellie? Eleanor is such a timeless name; I always think of Anna Eleanor Roosevelt when I hear it. I think it mean something about shining light; It's the English version of Alienor: "bright, shining one". We had a nun in the family, sister Aline. Not that I'm prejudiced but she's much cuter in person. Here's one with her awake having play time.

Time to change MsMod to Nana Mod.Thanks! I'm a Nana. I let my daughter pick as it didn't matter to me and that's what she wanted as my mother is her Nana so that's what she's used to.
She nearly missed it but my daughter was determined she was going to have her before the end of the day even though she was exhausted at that point. And while Ms.Cod might serve that abomination that comes out of a can, Ms.Mod makes her cranberry sauce from scratch.Just realized that the wee kiddo was born on Thanksgiving. Very cool. Ms.Cod is a wonder, she was still able to make dinner with all the fixings and serve it buffet style on a gurney during the birth. I don't think anyone noticed that her cranberry sauce came out of a can. I certainly won't tell anyone.......
Love that name--really great choice and agree about family connections. How are you feeling--you're in second trimester now, right?
Wow, it sure has gone quickly! The next couple of months will go by before you know it although that last month will seem like it drags on forever.Just started the third trimester on Friday, scary how fast time is going now but also exciting. I'm doing good thanks, had another scan last week and baby is exactly on average for where he should be regards to weight and measurements. I see the consultant every two weeks, and midwife inbetween, and they scan me every four weeks due to all the complications I have had so I'm very lucky to have such a good healthcare team looking after me...no complaints here.
If her mother, Ms. Fashionista, has her way, that will be her. You should see this little one's closet!....that there shore is a purty lil pup!.....
....tell her the OGG....(Old Gntl Gnt)....says she's needs one of these......If her mother, Ms. Fashionista, has her way, that will be her. You should see this little one's closet!
My grandmother's name was Ellie. I love the old names. I would love to have the name Gracie for a girl. Sounds so charming."Old" names have been making a comeback here the past few years. It isn't the reason they picked it, but it was my grandmother's name, my mother's middle name, and we found out it is her great-great aunt's middle name, too. They wanted to spell it Elle instead of Ellie but were afraid no one would spell it correctly or pronounce it as Ellie. They'd thought about using my and my daughter's middle name of Eileen but I pointed out her initials would spell EEL and that was not something to stick a kid with.
Do you have a name picked out now that you know you're expecting a boy?
Sounds like you got this under control, Ally! Good luck with the last trimester!Just started the third trimester on Friday, scary how fast time is going now but also exciting. Cool! I'm a Papa and my wife Joyce is a Nana. The other set of grandparents got Granny and Grampy (I like Papa better). Thanks! I'm a Nana. I let my daughter pick as it didn't matter to me and that's what she wanted as my mother is her Nana so that's what she's used to.
I feel for your poor daughter, pitocin makes things rough. I've had it twice, it does not seem to shorten the labor, just add an extra measure of torture. ( of course it is all worth it in the end )When my daughter was in labor, the nurse would keep telling her "she's a happy baby!" after they did checks on her. My daughter texted me that and added that she thought she was an angry, spiteful baby. This was about 24 hours into it. My thought was, "oh, yeah, this is someone who's been in labor a while," and couldn't help but chuckle even though I was feeling sorry for her for being in labor so long.
Not sure yet as I'm waiting to find out what our holiday days off will be and it's possible the SIL's family will be there. Their original plan was to come down on the 27th & 28th but might move it up to be there for Christmas. They wouldn't have a problem with my being there but I would feel like I was butting in as I've had two weeks with Ellie and his parents only had about an hour or so the day after she was born.Nana Mod, what a beautiful little girl. Glad everything went well and you had a nice long visit with her. Will you get to see her this Christmas?
I fully admit that some of my humor might have been mother's payback as she was the only one I had pitocin with and it was a miserable labor.I feel for your poor daughter, pitocin makes things rough.
