Oh mod lady.... Fix it....
It won't let me add a avatar... It says "site unexpectedly closed" every time. Also does the same thing when I try to post a pic. Any ideas? It may be my Android tablet being retarded

Hi my name is Holly. I have been reading SK books since I was 11 or 12. I had a long battle with drugs and was in and out of jail for most of my adult life. I often say his books helped keep me sane when I was locked up. They took me out of every terrible situation I found myself in. Although I have read most of his books my memory is understandably foggy. So I have decided to start over. I am really excited by the prospect. It will be like visiting old friends who helped to save my life.

Hi Holly, nice to have you here. I'm finding that I've also forgotten a lot about many of his stories and I don't have the same excuse (but we are the same age) so perhaps I'll start re-reading too!

Hi!

I've just read Stephen King's book on writing. I'm very inspired. I want to do the exercise he outlines about the role reversal of the antagonist and protagonist and I want to send it to him for him to read it. I want him to see my fossil as it comes out of the ground. How do I get him to do that?

Welcome to the site. I'm sorry but Stephen is no longer accepting writing samples for the On Writing exercise.

I don't know if there are any mods on tonight, so I'll answer: Mr, King no longer takes submissions based upon the writing exercise in On Writing.

EDIT: There you go: Lovely Flake is here. Hi, Flake--lol

hi, everybody ! I am Mara I am from Argentina. what else? ja I am a student at the School of Languages UNC in Córdoba, AR.
I have just quitted my job because I want to become a full-time student. It was a hard decision. It has been hard for me these years. My brother died from cancer, I discovered (last year) I had it too. I am now Ok ... I had to take a CT every 4 months for the following next 5 years.
mmm What else?
I first started to read Stephen King´s books when I was 17 years old. I found the book of Misery in a secondhand store. I still have it, I don´t think about borrowing or selling it. Then , I read some others, but in the spanish version.
My decision to promote my motivation to learn english made me join in different webpages , and I met a really good friend (now ) who also likes to read a lot.. he provided with some good techonological devices by which I can read King´s books through a virtua platform called e-books.
oh! I like to write , sorry. Long introduction about me or what I want to say. I am here just to learn something new, read , and write in English because I think I am not so good at it.
ok bye!

Hello Everybody:)

I first discovered Stephen King's work over 27 yrs ago, at the age of 15, with the book Misery. Blown away, this piece of literature taught me that horror can have substance, and although I didn't realize it at the time, it was a very strong catalyst to me later becoming an author.

Over the yrs I've seen a lot of change in the world, including how the internet has made life for authors both harder and easier, the former being especially true when it comes to trying to get published as well as trying to get your favorite author to blurb one of your books, as the market has now become so saturated.

I specialize in novellas, which I've been told is yet another obstacle, but as a writer, I have to stay true to my strengths and passion. One of these novellas, The Mirrored Staircase, is a dramatic horror story that I would love my literary hero Stephen King to read and blurb, as I feel it's a story he would enjoy. Of course there are countless authors out there who would love to get a blurb by Mr. King, so why should I be any different? Well, despite the odds, there's a little thing called hope, and so I use this opportunity to reach out, and if my birthday stars happen to be alignment in a couple of days, on the 4th, who knows...? More miraculous things have happened, right?

Well, that's my Stephen King story, in brief anyway. If anyone has any suggestions on how I can accomplish this bucketlist wish, I'd greatly appreciate it:)

Sorry to have to tell you what you're probably expecting to hear, but it's highly unlikely to happen because he already has a blurb request bookcase that is full of books and not enough time to get to all of them with all of his other commitments. If you still want to take the chance with no promises given, let me know and I'll send you the office address by private message.
