I will be keeping you in my thoughts, Srbo , and hoping you find the inner strength to do what you need to do to deal with this. I’ve had asthma all my life, and daily inhalers aren’t bad at all once you get used to them. I really admire your attitude about quitting smoking. You can do it! (I need some of your enthusiasm about exercise!)

Well, it is dang funny. :D

Wow, Maddie, what a story, gave me real goosebumps. Thanks for sharing, means a lot.
Tery , bought the tea, tastes awesome.
Thank you again, everyone, for this BIG moral support, you really are family. :)

As for me, I`m OK. The weekend was a little quiet, at least for me, my girls went shopping and that was good, since I needed to be alone for a while to think about all this and where I stand.
Wasn`t much to think about though, I gotta quit the smokes, do what my doc tells me and that`s it.
Millions of people have it a lot worse than me, I`m not gonna loose my head over this, just follow the instructions and that`s all I can do.
I feel OK, since I got the puffer the coughing has gone down a lot, I smoke one cigarette less day every day and my BD will be quitting time.
I don`t have any trouble breathing, zero, I still do my work out like I did before and all is good.
Like The Ragging Bull Jake LaMotta said : " You might get me into the ropes, bu you will never get me down. " :)

I've quit smoking this weekend, on day 5 now. It's actually not that bad, aside from the trouble with sleeeping, and i've smoked since i was eigtheen. I don't feel the urge to smoke, but for some reason sleeping at night is hell. Slept only two hours last night. Despite the lack of sleep i already feel better than i did when i was smoking almost a pack of cigarettes a day...

Thank you all, once again. True friends and I`m glad I have you in my corner.

Quiet morning, everybody is still asleep except for me. Got up at 4.30 AM. Yeah, it`s insomnia, I suffer from that forever. but I`m not complaining, people sleep more than they should any way.
Did we not say we`ll sleep when we`re dead? :)
I like having the house to myself like this, dark outside, cold, even some frost is on the grass, maybe I`ll be as lucky as to see a witch flying home on her broom after an all night party somewhere. :D
Made a fresh pot of coffee, the smell is wonderful, I feel like I already accomplished something for today, I`m still keeping up the ritual of writing a diary for my kid and I don`t think I will ever give up on that. Three, four pages every morning, and if I keep doing that, by the time her next birthday arrives, next September, I`ll be giving her maybe even a thousand pages to read, all about her life and our life, as a family.
What`s up, Stephen King, you think you`re the only one who has diarrhea of the Word Processor? Not anymore, my friend, I`ll keep writing volumes like this every year and leave ya` in the dust. ;)
The kiddo of course want`s to do trick or treat on Halloween, like all kids, but that`s not exactly permitted by the Serbian Orthodox faith and church, they are calling that the night of the witches and demons. It`s beyond me how a bunch of super happy children running around in costumes, laughing, singing and asking for candy is an offense, but it apparently is.
You have no idea how hard it is sometimes to keep the culture from your old country alive and at the same time adapt to the customs here. Fingers get pointed fast and without mercy, but I will do anything that makes my daughter happy and if God has a problem with that, we can have a chat any time.
As for people, they will always judge you no matter what.
Got a favorite Halloween story to share? I`m all ears, if you have the time.
Now, I don`t know why I wrote all this, except for the fact that I like to write, anywhere, about anything and especially when it`s this peaceful around me. It also really helps me to be talking to all of you, it`s something that makes me feel better in this whole situation, almost like a diary for you to read.
No matter if you don`t read it, `ill keep writing from time to time like this, like I said, it helps keeping up the morale.
TGIF. :)

Anduan Pirate Princess, RE: exercise.
Don`t even attempt to do what I do, an hour and a half or two on a elliptical is way too much, I also go swimming and jogging outside 3-4 times a week.
I can do it because there are many, many years of training behind me and I simply CAN NOT not exercise, it`s in my mind, body and soul. If I don`t exercise, I feel really, really bad mentally and bodywise, I think it`s safe to say I`m an exercise junkie, I need that fix.
This is not boasting, it`s just facts and I can tell you that even my doctor says I should slow down considerably, but...I can`t, I love the sweat, I love competing with myself, 3 minutes more than yesterday, maybe a mile more than last week and so on.
But, that is NOT what one should be doing, a nice walk of 45 minutes or an hour is enough, five times a week, combined with watching your diet.
I`m a Scorpio, what can I say, it`s all in the extreme for me, I am either all in or I don`t do it at all, regarding anything in life, really.
Not the best approach, moderation should be the key, so take it easy.

I didn’t realize you had recently quit drinking. I actually had been thinking, hoping quitting smoking didn’t lead you to more drinking. I have no idea whether you drank daily, weekly, or monthly. Also no idea whether drinking meant regularly drunking. And none of that is my business. I just know that major life changes can lead to more alcohol for most people. So....I’m relieved to know that is definitely not an issue.

It`s not a secret, I wrote about it here before.
I wasn`t drinking every day, not even every week, but when I did drink I drank for one reason only - to get really drunk. I actually don`t like the taste of alcohol, but I do like being drunk. I never had a single beer or glas of wine with lunch, it ruins the taste of food for me. I was a weekend warrior, or binge drinker, either - or, don`t matter, an alcoholic is an alcoholic.
One drink is too many, 20 are not enough.
So, I would be drinking, blasting my music and writing all day long until I pass out.
But, I have a daughter to raise and I don`t want her to remember her daddy being drunk, so I quit, cold turkey.
If I keep it up, and given that she was 8 when I quit, maybe she will never remember me being drunk in the first place.
Best thing I ever did so far, quitting smoking could maybe top that.
And I`m very happy I don`t feel the need to drink anymore at all. :)

You sound like a squirrelly, chipper guy, with all that exercising and coffee before sunup...can I have some of that energy? :) But, seriously, if your positive attitude and commitment to stop drinking wasn't admirable enough then the diary for your kid should win you an award. What a priceless gift to give your child, especially from a father. All the best to you.

That is really awesome.

And if she remembers you being drunk that won’t necessarily be a bad thing because she will also remember that you quit.

Hallelujah!
I DO NOT have Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)!
The results from the spirometry test came finally back after 4 weeks...and NADA, friends and neighbors, clear lungs!
Man, I couldn`t be happier if somebody had given me a check for two million bucks right now, there is no price tag on health!
Thank, you, God!
And thanks to all of you for your support and love that you showed me, it is an honor having you as my friends!
Much love and happy Weekend!

Great news! I hope you still stick to quitting smoking, though. Even if you don't have COPD, it's not a bad habit to break.
