Back when you were in school or even these days did you consider your self to be popular or no?

As for me when i first came here i was shy and i always felt like i was dumber and didnt fit in with the other people..i still do sometimes.

I have 2 girl friends that i count as family (known them since High School) but thats it everyone else are my husbands friends lol

Thats why i like it on this mb i count you guys as friends and i feel i can say what i want to here.

I was pretty shy in grade school and even into high school. Not exactly a "Carrie" haha but still it was not until after a few years in the military that I finally started to develop more confidence.

This MB is pretty good. I like the fact that there are none of those annoying 'pop-up' ads. Plus, after meeting a few of the people in person at the King Kon I would have to say they are genuinely nice and very caring!
There are others I haven't met yet but we keep in touch with conversations or even cards. Overall I would have to say this SKMB is actually an important part of my life now! :encouragement:

I had friends of all persuasions and cliques. I was pretty conventional and identified more with the theater & chorus gang than anyone else. I suspect I was more a member of the Naive & Gullible Club, though, because I went on to found the Skillet Club: you have to brain me over the head with a piece of cast iron at times before I connect the dots.

Okay - I will bite - what was the Skillet Club? Something to do with Home Economics?

p.s. I actually WAS a member of the Home Ec club - can you believe it?

Skillet Club = dense and slow on the uptake. I'm the first one to miss innuendo or figure out that someone's interested in me. It has to be obvious because my last name is Stoopid.

My version of that is a positive. People pretty much have to smack me in the head for me to realize they are insulting me. And even then, I'm likely to assume you must have tripped and I'll be checking if you are OK. I mean, why would you want to smack me in the head? Must be an accident, right?

As for popularity. It's highly overrated. I always had friends, but I was never the centre of anyone's social circle.

I was one of the "average" kids. I didn't belong to the popular or sports minded kids, and really didn't want to. I had one or two friends, but no one I keep in touch with. Like Staro, I loves me some privacy and these days, I'm pretty much of a loner.
