That brought me here. I've been reading SK's books for the past 25 years or so. I haven't written any fiction since high school or college. My girlfriend is a writer and I'm helping her edit her work. That's led me to want to refresh my knowledge on spelling, grammar and style. That triggered my interest in reading "On Writing" to see what advice one of my favorite authors had to give.
As I read the book, I stopped and did the assignment to see how hard it would be. I wrote a continuation of the Dick and Jane story and thought I'd follow through with a response on stephenking.com
Of course, I now find that the "assignment" was closed a long time ago, but I had a great time writing my extension of the story. So much so, that I thought it would be interesting to register and account and look around some.
So, hi there. My name is Mike and I'm new here.
