I am currently trying to track down another copy of a book about my grandfather.

By the time I had even heard about the book it was sold out. Then, I didn't find out about the second printing until it was sold out.

I had sent a "letter to the editor" of the newspaper in the major city closest to where my grandfather had lived, and I managed to get two copies of the book. I kept one and gave the other to my sister.

Now, my brother wants to borrow mine. But, this book was written back in the eighties, and not expensively bound. I've been very careful with it. My other book from the town is falling apart.

Anyway, I'm contacting relatives who's parents might have purchased the book, and hoping whoever inherited it still has it and is willing to part with it.

~~~
so what are you doing today?
Are you willing to share the title? Someone might find it in all of their goodwill shopping and used bookstores.
...watching Reds baseball, playing with my new kitty Jazz and thinking I should add some water to my aquarium...my life is pedestrian...
My game doesn't start until 10:15 pm. Ridiculous time to start playing baseball, if you ask me. (Which no one did.)
So I turned on the basketball game and the Raptors came from behind and are in the lead...so I'm scared to turn it off. Lol
The only part of basketball I remember is "double dribble" and the teacher says you can't do it.
I have a full house and there is lots to do right now. Everyone needs clothing washed and meals cooked. We are trying to hear everything we can about the pets left in Mac. They are evacuating hundreds of them right now and we are on the list. The are holding them and checking to see how well they are. Hope Devon's are on the list....when we get them, there will be seven here at our place.....and there is a certain snake to be rescued as well....oh joy.
I hope your visitor's pets are all found safe.
My niece is searching for her cats.
I was sleeping while you all were posting. Now going to work to lead a training course for SolidWorks (CAD). After that.. Going back to 1962 to try to convince two lovers just to concentrate on each other, after all its new years day back there.
Need to do one estimate, email that to the customer, take the garbage out (remember Sarah Sylvia Cynthia Stout?), shuffle through that small stack of paper over to the left there, drive to Ontonagon to finish a window job I started yesterday. That customer is pleased. Changed six windows for him and his wife yesterday, his wife told me Tom had been losing sleep over the exterior trim...he had called a number of times and I'd go through the job step-by-step, told him this wasn't my first rodeo, that we'll take the first step and go on from there, that all will be well and all manner of things will be well. I'm a superhero, after all. Even I was dreading the job...had him hanging on my shoulder for the first window...but halfway through the second he went and played with his tractor, then his boat, he'll be fishing the big lake this morning, so I guess I've earned his trust. Sounds like I'll get paid right away, too, always a good thing. Need to stop in Houghton on the way back through, help a previous customer put a few stubborn screens in place...might have to order new ones, down-sized a tad.
Today - let's see - get washed and dressed, eat breakfast etc. Go to work. Meeting at 9 a.m. with manager. I will plea my case to go back to my old 7 to 3 shift.
If she agrees (fingers crossed) :my_bad:then I plan to go back to old routine of going down to the HSC Fitness Centre around 3:15 every day and do some weights and cardio.:flex:
I feel sort of sluggish lately and need to get my heart rate up and get sweaty.:peace:
The same thing I do every day, Pinky...TRY TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD!
View attachment 15607
Was reading something about this show. You remember the song...one is a genius, the other's insane.
Apparently some people think Pinky is the insane one.
Today I had planned to hand wash quilts and hang them outside. However, since grounds keeping is being done....I think I'll wait.
Laundry, vacuuming, and making pizza dough it is. I live such an exciting life. :big_grin:
