Howdy all
I made a Curry Coconut Shrimp Soup on top of the stove. The recipe said to use the slow cooker but mine was already full of spaghetti sauce and I did not want to drag out the back-up slow cooker.
Although, now that it's done I suppose I could put it in there on low.
It's just that the shrimp were the frozen kind you get in a ring with seafood sauce, so they're already cooked. I also omitted the sweet potatoes and used what I had on hand (onion, celery, carrot and green pepper).
I did use the fish or oyster sauce, the lime juice and my own custom mix of spices, as well as a can of coconut milk, frozen niblets corn, garlic etc. so I did not vary the recipe all that much.
I hope Josh will enjoy it when he gets home, as I have to work tonight at 4:30 until 11. Luckily I am working with Sam, not crazy lady from Monday night!

The goat curry is okay but not like the Ghanian goat stew my son in law's friend makes!This place we are going to has all kinds of weird East Indian food. I am not even sure what to order.
"paneer pakora"; "papadams"; "Tandoori Malai Tikka"; "biryani"; "allo ghobi masala"; 'Tandoori mixed grill"; "butter chicken"; "Vindaloo chicken"; "naan bread" and (gulp!) "goat curry"!

Compared with everybody else i'm boring. Had Tortelloni with ham and a cheese sauce. Tasted good though!!
Went to a really good sit-down Chinese restaurant last night. Everything is made to order and nothing but white rice is prepared ahead of time. I had shrimp with mushrooms, and seafood soup. Both superb.
....a "sit down Chinese restaurant"?.....I prefer not to stand while I'm stuffing my gob with Crab Rangoon.....
I think he meant you had to "sit" after eating there.......
...within half an hour or less.....

Confused..... Are there standing up chinese restaurants? Like stand up comedy perhaps, you see the meal and burst out laughing.Is that it?
Pretty sure he meant seated and served by wait staff - as opposed to a buffet where you get your own food, then sit down.

Haha, I really don’t know. It seems like it’s a fine, kind of nutty grain, but it gets kind of buried in the cheese and olives.
I had a grilled cheese sandwich.
One helluva birthday supper tonight. Pork loin chops, mashed potatoes, cream cheese corn, sweet potatoes and homemade yeast rolls, followed by a homemade strawberry cake. My fiancée took a half day off work to get everything cooked. I have no earthly idea what I’ve done to deserve this woman but she can cook a mean birthday meal. The raccoons will NOT be breaking bread with us tonight...lol
