I am having a late supper - not that nutritious actually... Whole wheat bread, toasted, with butter; a cup of hot tea with honey and milk.

Also a plate of Old Dutch tortilla chips sprinkled with finely shredded mozzarella cheese then baked in the oven for 5 minutes - nice and toasty!
That is a suspiciously snack-like meal.

I'm taking my daughter and two of her friends to a hibachi steakhouse for dinner. Her friends have a tough life and have never experienced anything like it. I asked my daughter what they were doing after high school (they're all seniors). The one has to help take care her younger siblings as her mother has had medical problems, and it became more difficult after the father recently split. She does hope to go to school some day to become a chef. The other girl is going into the Navy to experience life outside her immediate surroundings, and to get help for college afterward. I offered to take them to dinner tonight as a early graduation present. Everyone (except me :)) is excited.

I feel the need to clarify something: the word "supper" is a bit of a regional/generational thing. I'm in the middle of the US, basically, and my grandma called it supper, as does my mom, sometimes. I know what people mean what they say it, but I call the main evening meal dinner, as does nearly everyone I know. To me, it's breakfast, lunch, and dinner. On the lazy weekends, just brunch and dinner.

Mmm cherry ice cream.
Where I am it's breakfast, dinner and tea, unless you're a bit higher up the social scale then it's breakfast, lunch, dinner then maybe some dancing followed by a light supper then home to Jeeves and a nightcap.:congratulatory:

Sounds good - I hope you have a great time - is that one of those places where they put on a little show? The chef throws the food around etc.
We went to one like that at a resort in Mexico with a big group - it was a lot of fun :)
