Wasn't really refering to the murder itself... More like the images he left on my mind. The crippled kid flying the kite, mom at his side. The bag of croissants... After all, writing is about that, not about who killed who. Couldn't give a darn about that.

I just can't seem to please you can I Larry? You seem to have a problem with with practically everything I have posted re: Joyland. Strange considering I said I liked the book. But i guess I'm not as deep as you. I will go elsewhere from now on and leave you to annoy the next person who does not see eye to eye with you.

A.C.T_Guy, please don't decide to leave because of another member, I have been enjoying your posts.

I finished The Demonologist by Andrew Pyper. It was an interesting riff on depression, demons, demonic possession and John Milton. And I really liked the main characters ironic first person narrative voice. Still reading the Beethoven biography and I've also started Dune by Frank Herbert and sampling stories from collections by John Cheever and Anthony Doerr

I got my pay!! And of course i just happened to wander in into a bookstore... They will be the death of me.... Bought 4 new books, one of them was Mark Lewisohn Tune in: All those years . The first volume in a three volume biography over the Beatles. Started really well and i have wanted to read it for a long time but could i wait for the library... No, of course not. I will end ruined in apartment with no food in the fridge and so much books i can't move around. Sorry to whine but but my character is too weak for bookshops. I saw it on the shelf, i picked it out, i saw the pricetag, i thought "Too much" and then i bought it anyway. I'm a weak man, weak!!

I wish I had the money to have books blocking my entrance... Maybe one day...

Finished: The Husband by Dean Koontz. Another wounderfully engaging thriller with a very good love story.

That is my problem. I don't have the money but the books pile up anyway. I think they come up with a way to procreate. They are just following the will of all creatures, to survive in this time of hard battle of survival with audiobooks and e books and whatnot thay have adapted. I am sure they go at it like crazy in the shelves when we are asleep and have our backs turned.

Michael Connelly - The Narrows

This is a sequel to one of Michael Connelly's stand alone novels, The Poet. The twist here is this sequel is a Harry Bosch novel and Harry wasn't in The Poet. A couple of years ago, I decided to read the Connelly books in order so every 3 or 4 months I read one and I'm up to The Narrows. These books are fun to read in order because characters cross over from the different novels.

Anyway, I'm halfway through this one and it is a good one. But I think I say that about every Michale Connelly book I read.
