I started The Count of Monte Cristo on November 19th and I'm still reading it. I'm on page 436 and the equivalent of 34% into the Kindle edition. Pretty darn good so far. Just takes time and that's something I haven't had a lot of lately.

I've got Revival to start and Kenzaburo Oe's A Personal Matter to finish up once I'm finished with this mammoth of a book.

I just finished The Walking Dead Vol. 22: A New Beginning.

Wow. This might be my favorite issue of The Walking Dead. It was totally unexpected and went into a whole new different direction. I love what Kirkman did in this issue, and what's headed. There are major changes and huge character developments. There's also an insane and quite crazy revelation regarding the zombies. I just really hope that this arc is included into the TV show. Very well done.

skimom2 did you read this yet?
I haven't, but now I'm going to get it--lol. I usually wait until our library has them, but this sounds BIG :) I wouldn't be surprised it Kirkman intends it to be used, whatever it is, given his intent to end the books within 2 years and the show having the same time frame.

It is BIG! I think it's exactly what the comics needed (to spice things up lol)--and it would really be a cool thing to do in the show. When you read it, I would love to hear your thoughts. As always, I like your take on the TWD world!

Mary Poppins :) I needed a palate cleanser before I dive into Amanda Palmer's book (and Revival after Christmas, if my family knows what's good for them :ninja::lee:::P), and that one caught my fancy at the library today. It's been years since I read it, but as a kid I loved it.

I'm almost done with Perfidia, by James Ellroy. What a strange brew it is. The staccato like prose with short punchy sentences took some getting used to. But the characters are vivid and pull you into the malaise of corruption and violence of 1941 L.A.

I'm half way through Reamde, by Neal Stephenson which means another 500 or so pages. And I will start The Golem of Hollywood, by Messrs. Kellerman, once I'm done with Mr Ellroy.

The woods are lovely dark and deep
I have finished Flesh Eaters, moves along but has anticlimactic ending; I also finished Bones Never Lie, a busy read, lots to learn. I keep putting Big Little Lies down and I am only 20 pages or so from the end! It has finally come to the point that has been hinted at since the first couple of pages but I love/hate all the characters involved and I am afraid of finding out what will happen. 'Tis an awesome book, I'll be seeking out more by Mz. Moriarity.

Just finished The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. I had seen it last year and thought it would be something good to try, but then got preoccupied with other books/life. It was in my e-library's recently returned books right before I went on vacation. So glad I checked it out, as I really enjoyed it! Still waiting til my Xmas Revival fix with several of you all!

Watership Down, for the first time. I can already tell this will be a repeat from time to time.
Oh yes! A classic, for certain!

I am really enjoying this book and I am finding it hard to set it aside for the next one in rotation; the other two are very good also. A lady stopped me in the doctor's office yesterday and told me how much she loved BLL and she recommended another by Moriarity, The Husband's Secret.

I enjoyed The Husband's Secret, but not as much as What Alice Forgot, another Moriarity.

The Night Circus is one of my favorite books! I'm happy that you enjoyed it! :) It was quite an enchanting tale, as corny as that may sound! ;-D

Have been reading Lone Survivors by Chris Stringer. An interesting book about human evolution. Not so much an overview as an discussion about different questions and interpretations in the paleoanthropological world today. He talks mainly about the Homo-line and leaves their earlier ancestors for another book. He presupposes some, if not much knowledge, about terms and so on so it is perhaps not the ideal book for a beginner but it is a very good discussion of different problems in that area. I read because i felt i had to update my knowledge of what scientists think today because i'm writing an article about Human evolution at the moment.
