Thank you! I didn't know Lindqvist had another novel out--I really, really enjoyed Let The Right One In. Another to add to my queue!
He actually has three other books out after Let Me In. 1) Handling The Undead 2) Harbor 3) Little Star and then a collection of short stories called Let The Old Dreams Die. Right now on Amazon they have for free a download of his short story Itsy Bitsy. I got it a couple of months ago on my Kindle but haven't read it yet. I keep forgetting that I have books/stories on there that need to be read!

I really do like this author's work. I have read his first two novels and enjoyed them. His take on zombies (Handling The Undead) is a fresh and different one. Harbor is in my TBR pile. Haven't got his newest book yet. His writing reminds me of early King.

I did! Like a lot of her books, there are layers to work out when you're finished :) For a small book, it threw me for a loop right at the end; made me question one point that I thought was settled. I liked it a lot!
Thanks for the response. I'll have to get around to it. Have you read her Madadam Trilogy? I loved it.

I just read today that she is taking part in a modern update of Shakespeare's plays. Not sure if it is going to be in play form or prose, but she is going to rewrite The Tempest. Perfect for her!

I did! I liked the second one (The Year of the Flood) the best of the three, but all were interesting. I would have said that dystopias were pretty played, but she found some fresh observations and ways of looking at things.

The updating sounds interesting! I hadn't heard of that, but I think you're right--THE TEMPEST is perfect for her. Did you read the zombie story she had going on Wattpad? I read about the first 2/3, but it seemed that the further the story went, the more was Written by her co-author (I can't remember her name), and I didn't like her 'voice' as well as Atwood's. Maybe I'll go back and finish it now...

No, I haven't read that. Will check it out as well. Have you read the Positron series she is writing? There are 4 installments at this point, available as Kindle shorts. More dystopia. Pretty funny as well.
I too liked The Year of the Flood best.

I just finished "One Second After" by William R. Forstchen. Can't decide whether to start stockpiling food, water, and other survival essentials...or just buy enough ammo to not have to worry about trying to survive. That book scared the crap out of me...

One Second After is on my never-ending TBR pile.

And it nevers hurts to have too much ammo.

has anyone read Ora et Labora et Zombies? I got the first 3 letters but haven't started them yet. I believe they are a bit "Catholic-y" but they are quite the buzz around some of the blogs I read. Interesting idea - the writer has written the book (s) as a series of handwritten letters to his wife during an apparent Zombie Apocalypse. You'll have to google since all I've got is a link. Tell me what you think.

I just finished 11/22/63, and am trying to figure out where to next. I've read Pet Semetary, It, all the short story collections, and even a series of Dark Tower graphic novels.

My question to you is: should I begin the Dark Tower series in proper (I've read the Gunslinger) or the Stand? They are both fairly lengthy commitments, but must-reads, I understand.

Welcome Mr. Crandall...Funny you should mention those two...it is exactly where I am. I've read close to 300 pages of ' The Stand'and have finished 'The Gunslinger'. I have had several people tell me 'The Stand' is a favorite must read... But really, why not read both? You could do an audiobook of one and listen while you commute and read the other in the evenings etc...
You won't be taking the journey alone...pick one and join in the conversation once you've begun...

Welcome @Mr. Crandall

Judging by the fact you have read both 11/22/63, and IT, you're clearly not put off by big reads, but if you want to read the DT books all in one go, remember they equate to more than twice the size of the stand - W&G, Wolves, and Dark Tower are all big books by themselves. I would personally go with the stand 1st (completing my favourite 3 list - IT, 11/22/63, Stand) - the 1st 300 pages (in a 1000 page version) does go pretty quick, once the outbreak starts the book is quite fast paced - that's what I found anyway.

@VultureLvr45 you will probably notice a change in pace round about now, allowing you to soak up everything that has just happened.

You both have some cracking reading ahead of you. As for me, I have had a bit of trouble sticking to an SK book recently, I started Cell, read a few chapters then read something else instead, then I read a chapter of Firestarter, but decided to wait and see what the book shaped Christmas present I had was - it turned out to be Neville Southall's autobiography (Legendary goalkeeper of my favourite football team). So I finished that yesterday and went looking for my next read, read a few pages of misery but changed my mind. I know you can't go on a few pages to decide whether you are interested, but now I have read the first few pages of Desperation, and that being one of the books I have wanted to read for a while, I am pretty confident that this will be my current read for the next few months.

Anyway, this is a bit of a long post - I think I'm turning into @Walter Oobleck
