Just don't go to the Book Suppository.
  Thanks for the... (everything I try to write is sounding, uh... rude. Oh.. wait, got one!) warning. :biggrin2:

I got the tip from Skimom so a little credit goes to her too.....
I had forgotten that earlier conversation... thanks to you too skimom2!

I'm really excited about getting these books, have wanted to read them for so long after all the recommendation. I hope Marsha isn't actually expecting me to be working in the next few weeks...

Of course not! You have a totally good reason for not working now.
By the way , which books did you get? Just swan song or boys life or more?

I'm over 100 pages into Mystery Walk. LOVING it!!! McCammon is accurately describing this area of the world (all of the action so far has taken place in the County next to mine) and a (fictionalized) version of its history. I am loving these characters and can't put it down.

I'm getting nervous with Blaze... what are the chances that this is all going to turn out all right? I know... not good. :(

Re: McCammon, I've had the same issue, very expensive to order online and the shipping prices for me (to NZ) can be huge.
Does anyone know if Swan Song and Boy's Life are available as e-book downloads?
(I finally have a smartphone--that is now working properly--so could maybe download the stories? I've never done this before though... hopefully I wouldn't screw it up. :biggrin2: )
Hey Flake, I bought Swan Song, I wanna say it was maybe three, going on four years ago from Barnes and Noble for my Nook. It's in .epub format. I think I paid something like 9 or 10 dollars for it. It was one of the first books I bought when I got my first Ereader. I just looked it up and Barnes and Noble still has both of them for sale for around 10 bucks each. Just fyi. Have a good weekend.

I decided, upon hearing good things about it to get Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry. We will see how it turns out.
Excellent book sir. If you like it, I'd recommend "Comanche Moon". It's a prequel to Lonesome Dove and is just as good or better imho. There is also a sequel to Lonesome Dove called "Streets of Laredo". Not quite as good as the first two, but it completes the trilogy and it worth reading. Have you ever seen the TV series Lonesome Dove?

God I loved that story :D
I read it just before Xmas and was gripped from start to finish!

On a sidenote, I have been reading the McCammon comments on these forums for a while and after a little googling, I have just realised how much his books sell for online! Bidding on a paperback of Swan Song at the moment :)
If you live in the US please check thriftbooks.com for McCammon's books. You won't have to pay an arm and leg for them and shipping is included in the prices.

FlakeNoir I vote you read Boys Life first, too. I loved it so much, it is my favorite McCammon so far. I have only read it, The Five and Swan Song so far. :)

Kurben I hope you enjoy Lonesome Dove! It is one of my top favorites. The characters are just so vivid. If you liked the mini-series, I think you will love the book. I have been wanting to reread it for a while now!

I will... promise. :) (I'm hoping to finish Blaze before the McCammon's arrive.)
