I'll start to read Dr Sleep tonight. I still haven't finished Dark Half yet, but try to read two books at the same time but
of the course different time. I just can't wait any longer.

    Very true.
And make sure you read the "About the Typeface" part at the very end of the book (if you are reading a hard copy vs. an eBook). ;)

EMARX One book at a time......okay sometimes two.

I just started The Reality Dysfunction, by Peter F Hamilton. This is the first volume of a huge S/F trilogy, probably creeping up on 3500 pages total. His work is complex, but his writing style makes the story move along.

Is it like Joyland, Chuggs? Remember the new member who stopped at page 47 and said it was crap (about Joyland). Somebody answered "It gets good on page 48!" (think it was Blunthead, actually).

I really enjoyed NOS4A2 - great read, similar to his Dad's work.

Joe is a very talented writer. I read most of his work as well.

Haha This memory makes me laugh! I generally give books a lot more than 50 pages to get good. The only exception I can recall was the third book of the Eragon series.

I've read his first two novels, now working on his third. I've got his short story collection as well, but haven't read it yet.

Finished The Goldfinch, meh; I am trying to read The Outhouse from Turn Down the Lights recommended by Sir Giant.

The Last Dark - by Stephen R. Donaldson. This is it. The last book in the Thomas Covenant: The Unbeliever series. Next to The Dark Tower this is the longest running series of books I have followed.

3/4s of the way through it and I've already choked up a half dozen times.

The Wind Through the Keyhole - I just had a laugh out loud moment - it is a great book

    skimom2 Just moseyin' through...

Finished A FEAST FOR CROWS (Took a while to get into it,but ended up loving it) and zipped through two 'for review' books (one a sweet romance that I liked and one a more difficult lawyer-ly book that ultimately was meh) this weekend. Oh, and started A DANCE WITH DRAGONS--so, so afraid that Martin is going to stab one of my pet theories about the end of the series right in the face...

I can't wait to hear what you have to say when you're finished! No spoilers from me, though. Enjoy!!

The short story collection, 20th Century Ghosts, is excellent. I have also read all 3 of his novels and liked them all, with NOS4A2 being my favorite. I started his Locke & Key graphic novels at one point, but soon grew tired of them and realized that that genre is just not for me.

Oh, I will! No matter what happens, Martin is a fascinating author. I actually find the "Dany & the Dragons" storyline to be the weakest after Khal Drogo died (I have to fight myself not to skim), so it will be interesting to see if he took off with that FINALLY. Good to find out what the heck's happening with my Tyrion, too :)

If it were written as a strsight novel, I would read it in a heartbeat. The story is amazing. I'm just not into the graphic novel style.

I don't mind that style, what I don' like is how the price adds up. Either you buy each issue, or you get the graphic novel, both costing a lot of money. :(
