The woods are lovely dark and deep
My TBR list is enormous right now. Blaze (a reread), Drood by Simmons, Mine and Stinger by McCammon, The Virgin Warrior about Joan of arc (why can't you call her Jeanne d'Arc in english?) and Wise and Foolish Kings about the house of Valois (history of France between 1328-1498) and soon i have to add Finders Keepers and Song of Kali by Simmons to that löist. When will i find the time?
One page at a time!

Hit a bit of a readers block for the past week and a half, just as I started 'Salem's Lot. I have only read about 40 pages in that time and in broken installments. Normally I don't mind reading unimportant background details, but his descriptions of the geography and history of the 'Lot seemed like a chore to get through this time. Thankfully though, I appear to be coming out of that block with the history of the Marsten house. I have some pressing on to do now.

Does anyone else get these little reading blocks? Every now and then when I am reading a book, I will go through a period where I pick it up, read a few lines and think "nah, not tonight".

It happens now and then. The thing to do is not to force it. I usually return to reading comics like TinTin, Modesty Blaise, or something else. After a few days the block is gone and you are in full gear again.

Quite frequently it happens to me. Times when all I can read are short magazine articles. Too much info? I know I hate those blocks with a passion, I need a story in my hand.

Hello board, it's been a while.

I am re-reading Misery, four years later, with an improved mind and vocabulary. Enjoying it 1000x times more.

A tremendous effort from King, back in 87'. I just love the way he mixes coherent, accessible storytelling with some interesting, uncommon words. He lost this lyrical quality during the 90's, unfortunately. But they reemerged in the 10s'!
I reread Misery recently too - I thought it was great - it also had quite a bit of dark humour mixed in there, which I enjoyed very much.

Try spending multiple weeks in a row, sleeping 60 minutes then reading Stephen King book 90 minutes, sleeping 60 minutes then reading Stephen King book 90 minutes - repeat pattern through the entire night
This is what an animal does (apart from the reading part!) Are you an animal?
