My son and I started reading these together several years ago. (I read aloud to him.) We're about 1/4 into the last book! Such a special time between us. He's almost 14, and still asking me to read to him.
JK Rowling is incomparable in her ability to make you believe the magic is real.

A more modern "The Exorcist" type book. Never heard of the author before, I looked him, he's wrote a few crime novels, but I'll be honest, he really knocked it out the park on his first attempt at this kind of book. The book keeps you off balance and wondering about the characters. It's one of the better books I've read over the last couple of years, Mr. King's books not withstanding of course
