Under your bed
Not really reading anything at the moment but this whole month of April Ive bought a few of the Marvel Comics black and white Essentials for the original Uncanny X-Men and Wolverine series Volume 2. Alot of stuff I missed out back in the day

Those Essentials trades are a great bargain. Lack of color can be annoying sometimes, but if the art is good enough, it doesn't matter.

I've been diggin the Epic collections. Right now re-reading Micheline and Layton's great second run on Iron Man, Stark Wars. These Epic trades are almost as thick as Essentials, but with color (and low gloss paper!). Great story, but verrry 80s. Half way through Tony gets a mullet. Yikes.

I will pick up these books at the library today, I hope, after a big bowl of tabbouleh:

You by Caroline Kepnes
Bad country by C. B. McKenzie, and
Memory man by David Baldacci

Out of these three, the only voice I could grasp was Baldacci's Memory Man I liked this very much and hope that he will start another series starring Amos Decker! As to the other two, I will take them back to the library and maybe retrieve at another time.:icon_eek:

book keeps getting worse and worse. Horrible modern day update of Pride and Prejudice, full of romance novel tropes (why are grown men always punching people in these books? Why does no one ask a simple GD question before they get their panties in a bunch? Do movie stars actually decide to do community theater because they spot 'the girl'? And why the hell is the caterer cast as Elizabeth Bennett?) :beat_brick::m_rage::no_pig:

And you have to submit a review?????????????? Yucka poo..............Wishing you luck there.:icon_eek:
I do :( I keep asking myself, "If this was a genre you liked to read, would you like this book?" I honestly can't imagine anyone finishing this book and raving about it. It's just not good. Trying to think of positives: 'it's all spelled correctly' is all I can come up with so far--lol.

=D I love A Prayer For Owen Meany. It's my favorite Irving novel.
It's not my favorite but I love it. Just read it for third time for book club. I forgot how funny it was, despite heavy themes. When
Harriet Wheelwright hides her wigs all over the house, birdbath, cellar and her slowly growing to be fond of Owen. I thought it was funny that they watched Liberace together. So many touching moments.

True. We have an Essential Wolverine that's lovely even without color, and my daughter has a book of '30s and '40s Batman comics that are the same. Good art is enhanced by color, but it's not strictly necessary :)

The Darkside of the Moon (England really)
I finally got around to starting duma key. So far I really like the feel of the book and the early slow pace, feels like a book I could really get absorbed in. Hope it stays this way. It's funny, until 11.22.63 I never thought I'd like the idea of a 1st person novel. Seems I was wrong.

I know it's what's inside that counts, but having seen some great looking cover art for various versions of duma key, I can't help but think mine is probably the worst.
