The woods are lovely dark and deep
I am reading Six Scary Stories from Cemetery Dance on my tab. These stories were selected by Mr. King in a contest held in the UK. I have read three and they are indeed scary. Before each story is the author's view of Mr. King's writings and, of course, he did a great explanatory introduction!
Finished all the stories in a half day. Liked them all well enough with the exception of one.

Thinner, by Richard Bachman/Stephen King.

I'm also doing a 'Halloween bingo' event on my blog with some reader friends. Here is what I've chosen to read for the next two months:
You're going to love Harvest Home, Hell House, The Damnation Game but not sure about It. Just kidding about It!

finished Hard Country, Michael McGarrity, a long read, "a novel of the old west" and a good story. First I've read from him. Trying to decide what to read next. I need a new drug. Have Poe by J Lincoln Fenn and Cold Granite, Stuart MacBride on the kindle...could order another Steve Hamilton...looks like we have a Rainy Monday.
Rainy days and Mondays...

Thanks for that tip! I've been wanting to read Koryta and downloaded Rise the Dark to my tab. Will backtrack now on your advice.

It's the second in a series (I think there's going to be at least one more judging from the way Rise The Dark ended) and there's just too much info in the Last Words that you need for the second one.

Maybe earlier in this thread, I told Ben Vincent when Last Words came out that no one had ever made me feel as claustrophobic as Michael Koryta did with this novel. Those cave scenes are something else.
