I've tried to get into Barker's books for years but the only one I've ever been able to complete was "Cabal" which was very good. The movie "Nightbreed" was based on Cabal if I remember correctly. I got about half way thru Weaveworld three or four times but I've never been able to finish it. One of the weirdest book plots I've ever read......
Perhaps I'll try Cabal whenever I give him another go then.

I finished "The Shining" a few days back. It was creepy scary, but I liked the way it ended up. I bought "Dr. Sleep" earlier this fall, but am taking a short break from from SK before I pick it up. I kind of wanted to start it right away, since it's a sequel, but have been reading nothing but SK since the middle of the summer, and just decided to go on with a few other things for the moment. Way back in the spring I bought "The End of Your Life Book Club" by Will Schwalbe, and am reading that now, and then plan to follow that with "The Cancer Chronicles", by George Johnson, which I bought early this fall. I happened to read an excerpt from the latter in Discover magazine, and bought the book because of that.

I HAD a mountain goat! until the website got changed. I was off the board for awhile this fall while traveling, and when I got back on, the website was changed and my mtn. goat avatar was gone! So, I had to find a new one, and put up this one from one of my files...which is of a magnificent bighorn ram. But, I'm glad you like him! I had a fabulous photo my husband shot on Halloween in Yellowstone of a raven, which I tried and tried to upload for my avatar, but matter what I did, I couldn't get it sized properly, and it just showed up black. So, this was my next choice.

The Darkside of the Moon (England really)
I think I will start "firestarter" later today.
I changed my mind, I started Cell instead. I listened to Night Surf last night on audio book, I might listen to the rest of Nightshift in audio book format because I don't seem to like reading short stories too much, can't really get into them.

I'll finish re-reading The Shining tomorrow, and Monday I'll start with The Lord of the Ring, in English (!?) I've read it translate to Spanish long ago, but I got the complete 3 on a single very thick and heavy pocket type book, 1031 pages, very small letters. With my deficient knowledge of English, I think it would take me a couple of months. I'll never understand of course the very personal and difficult language, but with the 50% of the wonderful text, I'll be satisfy.
