Hey, HollyGolightly!

If you have a chance, check out Room 104

Room 104 is an American television anthology series created by Jay and Mark Duplass.[1]The series, ordered by and airing on HBO, debuted on July 28, 2017.[1] The series is set in a single room of an American hotel, exploring characters who pass through it in each episode. Each episode is a different genre with some episodes more comical in nature and some more dramatic and some with horror and crime themes.

I was only able to watch the first three episodes but I enjoyed it muchly.

Hugs to you!

Love and hugs to you! I'm adding that to my watch list! Sounds intriguing.

Hey sigs,

I saw a show a while back on hulu you might like. It's a show than ran a few years ago on Showtime called The United States Of Tara. Tara has multiple personalities (the controversial DID syndrome) and is married with two teenage kids. It's a bit of a comedy and drama. Some of the personality stuff is hilarious but the family suffers too. It's kind of funny how the family is just used to her personalities and don't get too upset about it. Interesting show.

I just saw the movie Split with James McAvoy that reminded me of this show. McAvoy plays a character with DID that abducts 3 girls and the hostages have to deal with all of his personalities.

I loved United States of Tara!

Hi, sir!

Thanks for the heads up. I'll check it out.

I thought Split was freaking awesome and Mr. McAvoy was perfectly wonderful.

(Have you seen Road To Perdition with Tom Hanks? Bonds of loyalty are put to the test when a hitman's son witnesses what his father does for a living. Before I saw this movie, I thought Mr. Hanks was just a comedic actor but after? I realized he was an awesome ACTOR. Very cool star and movie, IMO)

Have a great evening and stay safe.

Just a heads up to Hulu subscribers. For this weekend only, Hulu has free HBO access. (I was on my Hulu account and noticed it-Free HBO weekend with Hulu. Yay!)

And on it's docs section, Dope Sick Love
When you're a junkie, the money comes and goes--and so does the high. Do relationships stand a chance among addicts? Meet Matt & Tracy and Sebastian & Michelle--two New York City couples looking for love, and fixes, in all the wrong places. This startlingly candid documentary follows these two drug-addicted couples as they eke out a bare-bones existence on the streets of New York, desperately trying to score cash to pay for their next fix. The result is an unflinching, captivating examination of the human need for love and escape--and the virtual impossibility of finding anything more than temporary solace.

You're going to need a strong stomach to watch this.

(Crud. I want to watch Gerald's Game again, I want to get back to Sleeping Beauties 'cause it's awesome but free access to HBO docs, movies, etc. is limited to this weekend. Not enough time.)

Directv is having free HBO and Cinemax this weekend too. If I record a movie on my DVR, will it still be there when they take the HBO away?

They will come into your house on Monday morning and take your dvr. ;-D

I'm not sure if the service provider dvrs are actual dvrs or cloud based. I have Comcast and if my internet goes out, I can't watch anything on my dvr. I'm not sure if it will work so just record everything and find out.

I can watch from my DVR when my satellite signal is interrupted, but I'm not sure if I can when the Internet is down.

I'll just try it out!

I'm in the middle of The Night Manager, a spy series starring Tom Hiddleston and Hugh Laurie. It's really good, and makes me wish for a more mature take on the 007 franchise that started so well with Casino Royale. I can see why (at the time this premièred) Hiddleston was in the running for being Daniel Craig's successor.

I also started watching Ozark on Netflix. I grew up watching Jason Bateman so I always try to catch whatever he's doing these days. Good show.

Have seen both of these shows, they're equally excellent!

You probably have tried this by now, since you asked on Saturday. But I think the recording will still show in your list, but will just be black screen if you watch after the free weekend is over.

Also, I can watch my dvr if internet is down, only problems with that would be with on demand stuff and looking a particular show or movie up in the guide.

My recordings still show! So far, anyway!

This Weeks Playlist:

FTWD 3/12+13
Star Trek DS9 Call to Arms/A Time to stand/Rocks and Shoals

Star Trek Discovery 1/1+2...

Discovery could become the best Star Trek offshoot since TNG.
The Basic Mood is gloomy, the Charaters have rough Edges and are ambivalent.
Visual superior, could be a big Screen appearance.

I had my doubts against the Plot and the Cast (Sonequa Green) but i was Wrong.
Looking forward to see more.

Good Friday afternoon.

I just finished watching the pilot for The Good Doctor. I liked it but it's a lot like House, isn't it? I'll keep watching as time allows.

In a few minutes I'm going to start on Mindhunter on Netflix.

In Netflix’s superior new drama Mindhunter, human minds are the staging ground for inhuman acts. Groff plays Holden Ford, a 29-year-old FBI agent with ambitions far beyond his station. Ford’s interest in criminals has less to do with bringing them to justice than with understanding why they do what they do and how their patterns might be spotted elsewhere. That’s what brings him to Kemper, a killer who gave himself up because, as he says, he “despaired of never being caught.” He was simply too good at getting away with murder.

I think I'm really, really going to enjoy this.

Y'all stay cool. :blues:

Hola!

Mindhunter (Netflix) is really good, IMO. (But I'm a freak so...) I read the book by John Douglas that it's based on, and many, many, MANY, others, but it was pretty cool watching how criminal classification (profiling) came about. It's strange how so many "lay" people know the basics of serial killers now-days and yet in the 1970's it was a vague idea...a wishful thinking...a pie-in-the-sky thing until it started panning out. Way cool.

I have one more episode and I'm pretty sure it's going to be awesome so I'm going to wait until later this evening and watch it with a nice glass of scotch and enjoy.(It's already been picked-up for season 2 and from what I've seen we can look forward to the Atlanta Children Murderers, and the BFK murder.)

Y'all stay safe and have a great evening.
