Probably my current favorite cartoon is Steven Universe. Just a kid, his dad, his town and his awesome gay space rock aunts.

I also like Rick and Morty and Venture Brothers. Futurama is something I'll check out when it's on. It has the distinction of having that one episode ending that just rips my heart out of chest and stomps on it 'til I want to die crying. You know the one:

The original Johnny Quest .

I remember that from when I was a kid (and Venture Brothers is basically a satire around a grown-up version of Johnny Quest). The thing I recall about it was that it was the only cartoon that would for-real kill people, mostly villains, but they freakin' died. None of that GIJOE "parachuted out of the last second" or A-Team "shoot a billion rounds of ammo that never hit anyone." Uh-Uh. When the Quests used a mirror to reflect the villain laser cannon beam back at him and his ship, that guy and his crew got blown straight to Hell. I kind of loved that.

Jurassic Bark is the only episode of Futurama that utterly loath. A very cruel ending.

Family Guy, I have absolutely no use for this show. It's a very mean spirited and unfunny.

Jurassic Bark made me actually cheer for the one time travel bit (and I hate time travel) which let that doggie have it's faith rewarded.

I used to watch Family Guy until South Park skewered the hell out of it with the manatee episode. There have been a couple of time Parker and Stone have ruined movies for me in advance. The independent film episode push Brokeback Mountain into territory of "gay cowboys eating pudding" while the Paris sequence from Team America: World Police completely wrecked GIJOE: The Rise of Cobra.

Daughter number three liked Courage the Cowardly Dog. I enjoyed the cartoon and especially the artistic detail they utilized in their background artwork.

when i was growing up i was watching looney tunes, tom and jerry, darkwing duck, ducktales, chip and dales rescue rangers, animaniacs, teenage mutant ninja turtles, x-men, spider man, batman, simpsons (show is almost as old as me) . . .watched a lot more of the classics obviously, like scooby doo, jetsons etc, but those were probably my favorites, animaniacs probably at the top spot because their humor was real sly and smart.

these days you've got family guy, bob's burgers, american dad, futurama, and probably my favorite of the adult cartoons, archer. yeah, the adult stuff doesn't always hit the mark and sometimes it's over the top, but they have their funny moments. i will say family guy has fallen off somewhat and just tries for shock value more than humor it seems these days, but early on it was smarter and funnier
