Yes and no. Once you get the feel of the double strings and make sure you use both to create the sound -- I love the Mandolin.
Yes, I most definitely love to hear it. I always thought it looked like it would be a complicated instrument to learn.
I took a year of piano lessons when I was about 7. At my wedding reception, at age 22, I got hammered and decided I'd become Scott Joplin on the spur of the moment. I proceeded to try and play some silly-assed love song to my wife at that time......guests were still suing me for damages 5 years later...it was a travesty of music never duplicated before or since...;;D

In this case, sassssssyyyyy translated to crocked on free drinks...lol. Back then there could be only one result from an event where I was present and there was an open bar. At one point my new bride leaned very close to me and said "Hey, thanks for the effort, but no need to work too hard before tonight."....lol
