What's all this then? Thank's for being here?
This is the song thread, belongs to everyone. Actually owed by OP Witchcult Today. Just sayin. :)
Just saying, I thought as much:) thanks for the insightful reminder! As I was saying, thanks for being here, (I think Pegasus beat me to the punch on that one) all! This is my favorite thread.
I'm not listening to a song right now, Not_nadine, yet this one keeps popping up in my mind.
I recall liking it when I was younger and found its random persistence on my mental soundtrack odd.

It's my brother Stephen's birthday today and every year I dedicate this song to him. He gave me my name, and I also stole my first SK book from him (that part he doesn't need to know about).

The Dead Zone, right? You were eleven years old.

Hang in there NN, it will get better.
Check your PMs NN , (from a few days ago). No need to reply, just smile.

I don't see that anyone had posted this yet but since we're all now singing it

Love that one! I keep meaning to listen to the Cat Stevens song "oohhh baby baby it's a wild world", another ear worm I guess. Here's another Springsteen to keep this cohesive!
I'll get this one out of my system
This next one is for Steffan (and me) I've wanted to hear this one for three months or so. I still love this video!

Ah yes, the good old days before all those cigarettes ruined John's voice. Plus Kenny Aronoff was still in the band then. Best damn drummer Mellencamp ever had.

One of the most morose, depressing songs I've ever heard, but I love it.

I haven't heard that in a while. I love it too. There was a time when I avoided those kinds of songs because they caused me too much anguish. I am proud of myself now. I can listen to any song, any story without bringing myself to that place (what might have been) It may seem like a lack of affect, it may be.

"Do you feel lucky, punk?":beaten::love_heart::love_heart::love_heart:.

I'm not sure what to make of that. What happened? Did every television play reruns of "The Apprentice"? Did leprechauns climb out of the shower drain singing "it's a small world after all"?:rapture::thumbs_up::topsy_turvy:
I spent hours listening to Born in the USA in our basement. My parents kept the rekkid playah down theya. I don't think they had any idea how often I played the Beatles albums, Cream, Simon and Garfunkel- we had modern LPs too.
Here's a couple of my basement favorites - wow, I forgot how much I like these!:nevreness:
Oh, and just to tack on another layer of crazy, I wonder if anyone else interprets this song like me. :alien: He and I share a birthday, that's about all we have in common.:D

Lovely, well since you mentioned it, here's my absolute favourite depressing song, from a band that should have been WAY more popular than they are.

I've deleted the explanation twice.
I'm not deleting it a third time, I have SOME common sense.

That was from last night-I was tiring [trying] to share a song like that. "I've attempted to extricate my reply from within the following quote unsuccessfully", must be meant. Yea, that's my humor for you - looked at what I wrote and added quotation marks!

Steffan,
Now I'm glad that I watched all of it. I am equally perplexed by the accordion, the ghostly image behind guitar player, and my inexplicable urge to cry!
:love_heart:Naomi

In all fairness, here is what I was aiming for last night, sans personal anecdote. Pink - so what? I know she's not the most popular artist in this thread:oops:, it's this song.
"Blades of grass on tiny bare feet":moon:
And now the tears- why??!!! Need to turn this around.
