I thought I was all done with Jury. The last day was long and brutal in so many ways.
Everyone just wanted to get out after 16 weeks of it.

Something was added to an indictment, I had to stay, wait for it to be revised and sign it. They forgot to get me to sign two other papers, phone call.

Missed a half day of work going back over there to sign. Terrible case but glad, because we got the poor kid off.

Then, when I got to work (with yet another note) my co-worker was called into an office and fired.

yikes.

Who's pouring?

I went to a meeting with a few fellow Pro-Marxists, I handed out some newspapers on the street telling the people about how the state government is trying to privatize our public education system, our free universal public health system, and relatively cheap public transport system. Privatization by say building a new hospital. 'This a private/government partnership.' What about the fine print. Who owns the hospital after say 20 years?

Thankya!

Hey Ghost ~ did you ever have to testify before a Grand Jury? Seems most all we had as witnesses were police officers.
No ma'am. Grand Jury indictments are much more rare here. I'm figuring you may live in a larger metropolitan area than I do most likely and some states don't use the process as frequently as others. They did happen but usually a preliminary hearing was used in place of a grand jury here in Arkansas. Reports we submitted were occasionally used by the prosecutor for grand jury, but again, very rarely.

So I got a yucky copy of the book called, something fearless or something, it is the one where they toke a bunch of king interviews and published a book, it was written in the 1980's and was wondering how creditable it was or if it is full of poop
Is it Feast Of Fear: Conversations With Stephen King? I enjoyed it.

Grocery shopping, cleaning, then my SIL's surprise 50th birthday party. It was about as uncomfortable as I expected it would be. After cake, my husband's sister brought her granddaughter over for their mom to cuddle, and the thought passed through my mind, "That's more affection in one minute than they showed any of our kids in their entire lives." Surprised myself into tears. It's not that their attention is necessarily a good thing--3 of 4 nieces/nephews from that side are utterly screwed up--but sometimes I get kamikaze sad bombed for our kids.

Meh. Mark made delicious drunken lemonade and al pastor tacos when we got home and then watched Snowpiercer with me, so the day ended better.

I finished season 11 of Supernatural. Spoilers below for those who haven't yet seen it, but the links contain both a lovely surprise as well as perhaps the strongest scene I have ever seen Jensen Ackles perform, as he finally confronts the architect of all his misery.

In Chuck we trust! Both me and my man are huuuuge Supernatural fans, and haven't missed one yet. The new season is getting pretty darn interesting, by the way.
