After work, I drove around looking for a station that still has gas. Drove around for about twenty minutes, finally found the one gas station in town that still had an open pump....in fact, they had two. Waited in line for thirty minutes before I could fill up. I was about fifteenth in line. They shut the pumps down after the car behind me filled up. There is currently no gas available in Boone, NC.
Any way to car pool for activities, work? Reminds me of rationing days. Hope they get the pipeline repairs done soon. Can you get some gas cans filled and stored safely?

I was able to fill up my tank tonight. The twenty or so cars behind me weren't as fortunate. A full tank will last me two weeks of basic driving back and forth to school and work. Carpooling around here isn't really an option, because none of my co workers live nearby, nor have a child they have to take to school. Right now, no one in the area even has gas to sell, so buying extra is also not an option.
The pipeline bypass was completed today.....now, it has to be tested, and hopefully, can begin sending gas this way by the end of the week. Things aren't predicted to get back to a "normal supply" until next week.

Yep, the guy told me that they received 2,500 gallons last night, and by this afternoon they only had 830 gallons. Several other stations received a small supply as well, and were sold out by 5:00 this evening.

Brains would have used a boat......;;D

.....you do realize that we call him "Brains" because he doesn't have much of one......right?
Yes, I get it. One of my favorite stories from high school involved the German exchange student. We had a friend in our group that we called ‘Tiny.’ He stood about 6’5” and weight about 250 pounds. One day the exchange student said to me: Why do you call him Tiny... It doesn’t make any sense... He is very tall. The student was sincerely perplexed. That’s the day I realized Germans had a bit of a problem with humor and irony.

But you had to question me about it, why exactly? Does the horse pulling a car sound like something smart? (Brains II? ;):))

I question you about most things, because it's what I do! ;;D
I wouldn't even think of having a horse pull a car.......but you might be amazed at the things I think sometimes. Just ask my daughter and my boyfriend about the antique happy meal box, and the protesters, who turned out to only be waiting for the bus.....yeah, I'm a dingbat. :facepalm_smiley:

I have to ride in an elevator a little later. I've been practicing my it wasn't me face all morning.
This reminded me. Yesterday, I went to Wendy's for lunch. They have some nice shade trees, and although I don't like to eat in my car normally, it was such a pretty almost autumn day, I got my lunch and pulled over to the tree area, and I can also watch traffic.

Anyway, big truck parked next to me, guy was inside eating. I had my windows down, cool breeze, tunes playing and I take a bite and this guy walks to his truck and rips the loudest most disgusting burp ever.

Mid bite I'm wanting to vomit. People, we aren't Japan. Please don't do this. It's bad manners. There is nothing more unappetizing than hearing someone pull a burp up from the depths of hell.

I'm such a fun girl.

Sorry, you had to experience that. Out of Order has much better manners than that.

Did you get a Frosty?

No frosty. I am so glad you have good manners. I love when men have good manners. It is refreshing to see.

I swear, burps just make me want to puke. I'm not talking polite little quiet, mouth closed types. I'm talking the loud things. J
