Both kids with strep!! That is terrible! Healing vibes tp them both!
Thanks. Both started complaining about sore throats and headache yesterday. Took them to the pediatrician this morning - Michael tested positive for strep, Joshua tested negative, but with the identical symptoms he got a shot in the butt anyway against all his protests

Strep throat is highly contagious so that was a good "ounce of prevention" I would say :)

That's miserable! Hope they feel better fast. That shot works like a charm, but hurts like a mutha.

This is how it all happened.
Larry had called a justice of the peace this past Friday, and asked if he could marry us this afternoon. The guy agreed.
I knew nothing about it until this afternoon when Larry asked me to put on my dress that I wanted to be married in. I thought it was a bit strange, but I went along with it.
Then we get in his vehicle, and he wouldn't tell me where we were going.
When we pulled in front of this house, I still had no idea what was going on!
I thought it was a friend of his that I had never met.
When we got inside, Larry sprang it on me that it was our wedding day!
Of course, I started to cry, and I think I hugged the breath out of him!
So, a little after 3 this afternoon, we were married.
No frills, just got married.
My husband is an endless romantic to plan this out to surprise me!
That is so sweet and thoughtful of him! Great wedding day story!

so i load up a window i will install today, right, into the truck she goes, slide the aluminum brake...or is it break? into the bed, couple saw-benches, roll of aluminum, extension ladder. i'd sent the customer/landlord two emails saying hey i will be there saturday. so, that's what i do...head out about 8:30, still dark-thirty. time change coming up on what? the 7th? somebody said the 7th. or was it the 8th? and why the 7th? why not the last sunday (wife just called out i want subway...she's sitting in the living room and here i am screwing around on the message board)...i'll pretend i didn't hear. earlier, or last night actually, she and some friends stepped in shortly after me, they said something about...sausage i thought. thought they tasted some of the venison sausage from last year. i'm nodding, jim's talking about cooking cajun next time he comes up from texas, i'm at the computer. yeah, i say, mention paul in bootjack, sausage, you got your summer, pepperoni, i pause and then think of it, salami. country, i say, with bits of cheese. they're giving me the look.

like, where'd he come from? where was i? well, they were talking about salsa. did i say that? or did i leave that explanation hanging? and then this morning, my wife asks me...what was it? soup. or what? soup...soup...soup. not soup. she wanted, sheesh, i forget. had it wrong anyway, not soup...i was at the pantry looking at all the cans of soup. you got lots of soup! she's in her chair? the one that lifts her up? cause of the surgery? what was it? not soup. ah, best move on.

had to go in through the window. at the job. i get there, hang out for a time, knock on the door, once twice three four times. call the owner landlord/customer, get a machine. round 'bout 930 i decide to take a ride, maybe the tenant will be up and about by the time i get back. i do. take a ride. come back, no lights, no activity. knock a couple more times. nothing. i call the landlord's brother...we got back and forth, or he does the call thing. last call i tell him since the tenant is downstate and since she knows a window is going to be installed, i could go in through the window. job took two hours once i started but i waited 2.5 hours before i started. ay carumba! subway i guess. i'm on my way. this has been the oobleck, over and out.

Well my mum is certainly having a less eventful day than yesterday when she started out with a 20 minute journey turning into 1 hour because of a fatal crash. She was going the hospital to get stitches removed from a minor surgery on her forehead. She had 5 external stitches on a quite sizable slit. At about 12.30am she sneezed and the wound split right open. She spent 3 and a half hours in a+e where a nurse told her a wound that big needed 5 internal stitches and 8 external.

Hope your mom feels better soon, Nameless.

...I hope momma is aces and I pray for those affected by the fatal crash that delayed her care....

Thanks for the concern, my Mum is fine, they made things stronger in the 50s including people. She's the kind of person who if she has a headache that starts to feel like being repeatedly hit with a hammer, she might take 1 paracetamol. She's just annoyed that it was able to happen. The nusrse who did it 2nd time around said there weren't enough stitches, there is too much tension in that area to not have used internal stitches, she also said it should have been done in Plastic Surgery, not Dermatology where it was, and that the nurse who removed them 1st time should have removed one, missed one, removed one etc. So a series of small mistakes have led to what should have been 7 days with stitches becoming 17 days, a course of antibiotics and a night time 3.5 hour visit to A&E plus taxi fare home.

Scott - it has emerged that the crash was one vehicle hitting a central reservation and seemingly caused by a heart attack or stroke or some other fatal episode behind the wheel.

made some more apple sauce, third batch, and have enough apples on the tree for at least one maybe two more batches. yippee ky-ote. went hunting this morning for a couple hours. brought a glass block window to a customer in hubbell, let them look at it, picked it up down marquette way last wednesday when i brought my wife to the doctor. the customer gave me the go-ahead, so if no rain tomorrow, or no heavy rain, i can install that. just got back from a subway run, two footlongs for $12 on sunday and ran the truck through the wash while i was up there in calumet. wife had two coupons for a free wash--she'd been stuck inside the car wash a couple three weeks ago--for some length of time. they gave her coupons for two free washes. i think she should have asked for me, the wash is some distance away from where the owners/managers of the wash operate another business. not sure i want to know the details. touch of rain here this afternoon, will do some reading, then out to the bush again to sit for a couple hours before dark in the tree stand i set up in the hardwoods...on that ridge running down to the lake? yeah, you know the one i'm talking about. happy sunday. :)

Walt, do you ever make apple dumplings?

no...sounds almost tooo good to be true. i'll put in a request to my wife. i can make something called apple pastry, kind of a thin apple pie. first, you roll out the dough...i can't remember how to make dough. would have to look at a recipe or ask the wife. then. you roll it out. looks like a map of the united states when you get it. put that on a pan. put some apples on it and spread em out. some cinnamon i think. might be some other stuff. check recipe for sure. then. you roll out another map of the united states and cover the first one and smush the edges. i think you poke holes in it...you know, like maybe where major cities are located. denver. check. st louis. you bet. nashville, chicago, all the major places. sprinkle the top with some sugar. bake it in the oven. try 350...350 usually works for everything. time? i'm not sure. best watch it, the edges start to turn brown pull it out. cut it up into states, north and south georgia. florida never made it. this is after global warming. slice straight down the mississippi. take the western half of the region in your lunch. tell the wife you have no idea what happened to that part of the country. went liberal, my guess, the hogs ate it. apple pastry. good stuff. happy sunday! :)

oops! edit! cut up the apples first! apple chunks! not whole apples!
