I drink 6 to 10 cups of coffee a day. Over the years, I've given up sugar and switched to fat-free milk. Now I think I'll start using regular milk with coffee again, sometimes I've used even apple juice to cool the coffee down. I don't think there's much effect in coffee even with caffeine, once your system gets used to it. It's mostly a habit.

Coffee has become habit...has been habit for some time now...years. Had to do w/o this once...had to take a stress test, the doctor worried about my heart, something she heard...or didn't hear...heh! Anyway, had to whutch-u-callit...fast? go w/o drink? I think maybe I could have had water...maybe juice....but the biggie was no coffee. So I head out to the hospital, check in, they deliver me to some room and my doc comes in, tells me what's what, she brings me to this other room and an attendant hooks up these wires and they have me get on a treadmill. Time it was all said and done, I had a throbbing headache...someone (not the doctor...or maybe it was her, don't recall) said the headache is from no caffeine fix.

Coffee also does the trick on those cold days when the wind is blowing and the temps are below freezing...even a lukewarm cup of coffee hits the spot on days like that. Around here, if someone offers you coffee, you best take them up on the offer as it is the equivalent of breaking bread.

I just don't think I could live without it. When I read Gunslinger and thought about all his nights of wandering, my first thought was "Dear God, I hope he has coffee". the very first thing I do everyday is start the water boiling - I'm a coffee snob - I grind my own beans because I use a French press - and you have to have a course grind - regular won't do because it's too fine and slips through the mesh filter. Oh how I love my coffee.

Can't stand coffee, but will drink it for the effect on occasion. In my special drink. Generally, I will drink my Monster Energy drinks when I need that boost.

Then there is my special drink.... seven shots of espresso, enough ice cream to make it cool, and enough caramel to make it taste good. You don't know what energy is until you've had that.

I used to drink a lot of coffee... but can't really drink more than a cup a day anymore. Occasionally two. I used to have half and half, and sugar. Now I prefer black with no sugar. I can't say I get much of a boost from the caffeine though...

I do have to be careful not to have it too strong and definitely no more than two, otherwise my heart gets all snotfaced at me.
