So sorry about your loss. {{hugs}}

Oddly, this is the second time this week I've heard of this. Another of my on-line friends found out her own father had died when her nephew posted it on fb.

@staropeace I work in a church and often am the first to hear of a death because the family calls the priest - and I have to keep my mouth shut until someone from the family gives me the word to let others know - people need a moment to get their bearings and decide what and how to announce it.

When someone we knew was hospitalized we received prayer e-mails from his minister, forwarded to the entire congregation, before we had the chance to let the entire family and close friends know. When he passed away, I was asked by the family to contact the minister and to insist he NOT say anything to anyone. It was a horrible position to be placed in, telling a grown man how to behave...when he should have known better. But it was better then just leaving him blab.

Thank you all. This is a lil poem that Lloyd Pretty wrote for his brother Bas today. Bas went to the hospital the other evening ...he was dehydrated and not feeling that well. He was thinking that the flu is all around. The hospital hydrated him and sent him home...he died that night. They are doing an autopsy. The hospital was probably full of people with the severe flu we have. A bad time to get sick. What really breaks my heart is that Bas, this fall, met his grand-daughters are the first time. His x was estranged from him. He moved down nearer to Calgary to be with able to visit them. He was so happy finally getting rid of all the moving boxes and enjoying the new lil house he had. Last I heard, he was going down to celebrate his lil granddaughters birthday. This is so heart-breaking......................................................
I had something to tell you brother
Something I wanted to say
I was going to tell last week
But I'll wait another day
...
I'll tell you when we talk again
This time I won't forget
If I don't tell you this time
I might find that I'll regret

Just three little words, easy to find
But sometimes hard to say
I'm glad I told you that I love you
Again the other day........For Basil.

Don't for get to tell your love one's "I Love You"
