the problem with all legislatures, local and otherwise is, that they think that if they're not passing laws they're somehow derelict in their duty. so we have a thousand asinine laws on the books as a result. don't get me wrong, i think we need some laws to reign in unfettered greed in the business world, but laws about who can have a garden? and don't get me started on city ordinances and the glorified meter maids they have running around issuing citations for them. and the one law that has affected me personally that makes me wish for the opportunity to throat punch a local politician - making it illegal for more than two people who aren't related to live together. so in a perfectly good 5 bedroom house, if you had 5 people willing to live there and you're not breaking any codes by having too many people, nope, the law says you can't. as if it's anyone's damn business who wants to live with who. my roommates and i were forced to move because of that one. i'd like to see someone sue over that law.

see, i was confused for a minute. but suddenly i knew exactly which thread you guys were talking about without even having read it. i saw it pop up in new posts at some point and was striving to avoid it because that person was already extremely confusing to talk to, and seemed like they had a stubborn streak. so all this talk made me go search for it and read it, and holy crap lol.
