I'm having a bit of reading ADD.

I just finished Finders Keepers and I'm not sure what to read next. I am in the middle of Bag of Bones, Gerald's Game and Cell. None of them are 'grabbing' me at the moment.

I'm thinking of The Stand, It or I just ordered The Gunslinger. Thoughts?
It sounds like you have a an overabundance of riches. Why don't you try some short stories.

Cell didn't grab you? I haven't used my Cell since... though admittedly it's because I have a work cell and they call me up to do work on it. I was hooked but then that is why we have this forum, everyone likes something a little different.

Stand, It or Gunslinger are all awesome. Just remember with The Gunslinger, to find out how the story ends you need to read another 6 books (and most of Stephen King's back catalogue!).

I'm in the minority here with you. I loved Cell! I hope the movie does it justice.

Cell is good but its just not pulling me in. I actually have been avoiding The Dark Tower series for years but I just decided to give it a shot after reading this board and some of the SK Fb groups I belong to.

The "Dead Zone" may be one of the best written and overlooked King books. There were a couple of scenes in that book that are as good as anything King has written. I would say that along with "The Green Mile" it's the most complete novel. I wonder if King has any regrets about writing "The Green Mile" in serial form? That seems to have detracted from the discussions of it as a book. Overshadowed by the equally good movie.

Will the stand or it be 1st reads? If so you're extremely fortunate. I would say it - no place sucks you in like Derry.

That's the most disgusting tree I've ever seen.

I would think The Stand (uncut version) would be a good choice. I recently read this version and I thought it good. I had not read the original from the 70s in a long, long, time so it was almost like a new book.

Try reading The Stand, uncut version.

I read the original when it first come out and just recently the unedited one, so for me it was like reading a new book - I think you would enjoy it.
