wow on the independent eye movement. That's difficult. I can't do it.

Some people don't like it. It squicks them out. The kids and grandkids love it, and my eldest son had me teach him how.

Hey, I can also impersonate a few voice. Don Adams "missed it by that much," Tom Petty/Bob Dylan (as a child saying, "Teeecherrr, can I have some gluuueeee"), and "Fire and Rain" by James Taylor - if I hear the start of the song and have a moment to tune the vocals to get it properly nasal.

I can wiggle my scalp and ears. I bend my fingers' first joints without bending the rest of the fingers (which I suspect is about as common as tongue-rolling)(which I also do). I also display independent eye movement.
Dammit, I was just going to post that I could bend my fingers that way too. And roll my tongue. And cross my eyes and move the other round and round.
No wiggling of scalp and ears though. So I guess we're through, Gpa.

I can flip my eyelids inside out.

You know, for the ladies.

That reminds me of a call we got for a guy who climbed up on his roof, then made a misstep and fell from the roof, breaking both his femurs in the fall and both were open fractures, which meant the bone was exposed to the air and you could see his bones.)
We didn't know he was high on marijuana and the doctor gave him huge doses of liquid morphine, which made the guy start doing things like turning his eyelids inside out, singing 'I'm too sexy for my shirt' and trying to fly like a bird while they were transferring him from one gurney to the next.
One of the other doctors looked at the physician attending this patient and said "How much of that stuff did you give him?"
"Just the normal dose for someone of his weight," he replied.
The patient was singing about shaking his little tushie on the catwalk, baby.
So the doctor asked if he'd taken anything else but the patient didn't answer. It turned out he'd had marijuana and alcohol in his system.

Yiiiiikes! What the hell happened to him here?

Nothing fats a man up like domestication, money, and Keira Knightley's lower rent cousin:

Also, I think that Depp pic was someone else or digitally bogused.

I can independently move my eyes side to side in different directions - but not round and round. You're up on me there, Danie.

Mayhap you can make a you tube video on how to do it -I'd like to learn. I didn't even know you could learn - I guess I thought you were just born with the ability, like the tongue thing that I can't do, but all of my kids and my husband can.

Actually, I read somewhere a long time ago that something like seven out of ten people can roll their tongue with the sides coming up - but fewer than one in a thousand can roll them the other way, in an inverted U.

I can do both.

I taught myself to do both tongue rolls in the mirror when I was a kid.

I think I can explain it. But first, you have to be able to cross your eyes.

So if you can cross your eyes, cast both eyes to the left, as far left as you can.
Now with the left eye, cross it, so that it goes into the middle, with your eyes crossed.
Now take your right eye and uncross it, all the way over to the right, so both eyes are casting right.
Bring the right eye back to cross it again.
Now uncross the left eye, taking it all the way to the left.

To the casual observer, you're looking like you have independent eye movement when, in fact, you're simply crossing and uncrossing them.

What Danie's talking about, rolling one of the eyes, takes more practice. After I taught my son the above trick, he practiced more, and he can do that too.

Meanwhile, I just did what I taught, and now my eyes hurt, so I'm going to stop for a while.

Incidentally, will it ruin your eyes? Well..... I'm past my fifties and still don't wear glasses (readers, but only occasionally). So personally, I'd say not.

I'm going to get my daughter to read your instructions to me whilst I perform the trick - because I have to keep stopping and starting over so I can read. Only she'll know if I get it right. I will report back. This will be very cool if I get it figured out! Thank you! Amazing what goes on around here.
 love it.... :)
