No , not about that show ,,,

So, I take puppy out for about the millionth time today. ( she fell asleep in her water bowl_

But I digress.

While walking I met up with a child. And her mother. Cleary something wrong. I don't want to sound mean at any point. The mom did not look right.. whatever right is is

The little girl was about 6 drooling....

They followed me while walking puppy.... All the way..

I tried to be nice and keep puppy from jumping at the huge ball the child was carrying.

What would you do? .

I have elderly neighbors.... 94 and 74. with a pup.

I gave them my name and number and said if you need anything at all....

Do you mean would I ask my elderly neighbours if they need help? That seems like a friendly thing to do.

As far as the Mom and little girl go, if they were going in the same direction as you and did not change directions to follow you, I would think nothing of it. You always have the choice of turning around and going the other way :upside::lemo:

Do you mean you were worried the mom might have meant your elderly neighbors harm? The drooling little girl may have had some kind of special need. My friend's daughter has something wrong with her swallowing - some kind of muscle paralysis - and she drools all the time. She's 9 and it's never going to stop, she just has to remember to wipe her face all the time.

In any case, just being alert and keeping an eye on your neighbors is about all you can. You should see the strangeness in my daughter's neighborhood. It's on a busy street between 2 notable bars and right across the street from a concert venue. There's one man who walks the loop all day long ranting crazy stuff.

..."situational awareness"...preached in the military and in our prison system among others.....it is a sad but necessary evil in these twisted times in which we live...

Okay - you said it much better than I could, Scott - trust your instincts and don't appear to be intimidated. Walk assertively. This is something we need to do here in Winnipeg - people sometimes get "mugged" for something as simple as a bit of change. We have many desperate people in an area of town called "The North End" - you don't want to go there at night alone, that's for sure! :icon_eek:

Even around the hospital where I worked there were people being attacked on the streets when they came in for their early morning shift. (One woman was smart enough to throw her hot coffee in his face and got away).

Doesn't sound good. I thought Canada was a calm place, or should i say Winnipeg, but i guess not. Oh, well, just another crushed illusion to put on the heap.
We are still pretty safe, but these days no matter where you go, you have to be on your guard. It is just a fact of life - sorry!

Hi NN,
Please give us an update. Was the Mom and Little Girl following y
ou, and when did they stop? Was it at night? Were you thinking the mom was impaired?

I'm a little confused about how the elderly neighbors and their puppy fit in with the comment about Mom and Daughter.
